Looking at a 2019 Pro with 26k miles

Exactly! I think the Toyota engineers are just trying to sell us new cars after WWIII!

 

Depends: was there one or two oil changes in that many miles?

Serious response: how is this a question? You put more miles on it taking it home.

 

Chances are someone test drove it and could feel the 4Runner shimmy that plagues 5%-10% of 4Runners on the road.


I do look at the mileage seriously. If the test drive route is 6 miles (like mine was), a car with 34 miles means 5 test drives plus the transport mileage.

5+ test drives for a plain vanilla car (not a Pro, not a Limited, no customizations) is a red flag, anyone agree?

My car had 6 miles when I found it. 4 is the minimum I've ever seen from a Toyota at any dealership (I should note that I only look at J-VIN cars). The multi-level parking structure, PDIs done on the opposite side of the campus and a quick run to the gas station probably added that 2 miles.

 

Wow, That hits pretty hard. Man....

 

Did you get an answer? I have a new to me 2019 and noticed this same burning smell off and on. Not coming from the engine compartment.

I noticed that my garage has occasionally smelled like hot tire. Not alignment problems, properly inflated, no abusive cornering. Hot streets in the summer type stuff... I guess.
