Has anyone had any experience with this? Wondering if it is worth the money.

    https://urdusa.com/afe-power-76mm-throttle-body/

Disclaimer: I am well aware these vehicles are not race cars. I know if I want something fast that I should buy something else. I know that a supercharger is going to provide the most available power which I plan to add after my Christmas bonus comes this year.

With all of that being said, if there is more power that can be gotten out of a 5th gen, why not get it? This vehicle is only driven on weekends as I have a company car. I do not give a f**k about gas mileage. I’ve had it for a little over a year and only have 5k miles on it.

I am currently looking at any and all options. I won’t say money is no object but I am willing to spend the money if the bang is worth the buck.

I ordered one and will be testing it on the road as well as on the dyno as part of the Overland Tailor’s continued development process. OTT is testing a bunch of bolt ons for various platforms so people can know what works and what doesn’t. We don’t believe in butt-dyno only results, everything goes in the rollers. it provides gains or improved throttle response or some other improvement or it doesn’t and we will let people know.

I’m doing the AFE version, but same concept.

Make sure to test it after couple thousand miles too after the 4R adjusts for it.

It will adjust pretty quick when you have tuning software to tell it how to adjust :p

The “learning” on these trucks isn’t as slow as some may lead people to believe. Expose the vehicle to multiple load and rpm conditions and it will “learn” very quickly per the Toyota knock control strategy.

I would expect much NA, but if you are planning on supercharging in the future it wouldn't hurt. There will definitely be gains with a larger throttle body on the supercharger.

I absolutely love how you guys test the bolt on "performance" adders. Any chance you'll be testing the urd mid pipe? I see they are offering it again.

Not planned currently. Exhaust usually adds at the top end and personally, I want to generate more HP/TQ below 4000 rpm where I actually drive my 4Runner most the time. I don’t really care about more HP/TQ at redline.

Likely testing the Anderson Engineering intake manifold spacer next. It actually worked on the 2GT so we are looking at testing it on the T4R.

Well ill tell you first hand, this throttle body doesn't do much if anything.

I got one stupid cheap, brand new off my local fb marketplace. I paid $75 from a guy who bought one then sold his 4runner. Its definitely not worth voiding your warranty. Oh well

Well I second guessed myself, chose and ordered a Jet power flo instead of aluminum radiator that was my 1st smarter choice. Just because it was $350 instead of $600 for once. They didn't mention needed adapter. For $600 msrp you would think it would have one. It says easily bolts on in minutes on the box. Faster without adapter because you can only start one bolt. I was going to return because bolting anything on a Toyota is a pretty worthless endeavor, unless it's a Magnuson SC. I can buy a good used 4runner for that price. It took 2 weeks to get RMA # to return and one day to ship to me across country from Jet. I will probably order an adapter now so I can be completely disappointed in another expensive Toyota add on. I have used Jet for a couple decades, using a Jet MAF sensor now. I thought they might work together if they work at all. Jet chipped my 97 ECU and I could tell a difference. Never a problem with any of their products. They tell you how to recalibrate the TPS sensor before using. Maybe the electronics are the extra cost for lack of waiting on ECU to reset, if I get so lucky. I don't usually. Procedure may work on all the replacement TBs. I have to see how mine works initially. I am eventually working my way to the Overland Toyota Tune. I want it done with any mods I'm keeping in place first and tune at the end. If I keep bolting enough $400+ parts on, and everything for us rich ass 4runner guys seems to start at $400 for the cheap plastic accessories that do nothing. I use a Pedal Commander right now, but I would like to only use it on trail to detune my accelerator for crawling along. I don’t have much difference between the throttle and factory power mode and PC off now. It just needs about 12 fewer settings and no sport mode for 4runner. As with everything change one thing, have to change something else for it work like you left it alone. I will have to change intake tubes with throttle body if I can't fabricate something from left overs. I think I will plumb a fresh air hose from factory box to grill and try forced air induction with new TB, MAF and exhaust. Free power as long as opening is at least 15 ci. Brake air duct from Summit to front and 3 or 4" hose to air box and just see. Increasing intake tube velocity and K&N filter does as much as $450 cold air intake since it is from the factory already. I tried cheap ebay tube before spending that much for 20 hp at 5500rpm kit and I realized why they sell just the tube without the rest now. Even that is $200 for plastic tube. I can't tell if I have 20hp more at 5500 anyway because I'm running out of speedometer. I really just want better low and mid range pedal response with no lag. You don't need to much power on trail or you might break something in the excitement of peer pressure. SC is the best power add and you're done really. I upgrade for temperature reduction, reliability and safety. Hopefully mileage and power will come along a little bit. I prefer a throttle controller with no settings except faster pedal response. All those start about $300. I guess if they sell someone driving a 4runner an accessory, they get all they can until next victim. I couldn't even find a PCV valve at any parts store here in stock. They start having clearance sales for 10 year old 4runner parts at Rock Auto. Most of us use Toyota parts for the things that last 200-300k because breaking so we don't do it again. I'm going to remove my converters just for Joe and Kamala.

    And in conclusion....hahaha. Yeah finally
