Makita is good stuff. From my experience with their drills, bandsaws, rotohammers, in line with Milwaukee FUEL though I have much more time with Milwaukee stuff. But yeah really good tools.

One-at-this-price stripper. Bought new 34 yrs ago, a $13K leftover. Added Detroit TruTrac, 1”rear spring spacer and “pinstripes”… Factory AC kit and roof rack bought at dealer cost at time of purchase, still blows ice cold 32yrs later. 2022 AG ORP all stock.
    Torque Test Channel too.
    +Gear Wrench
Husky has some good quality and value too. I bought a 12 wrench set (6+6) of metric+SAE LARGE open/box end for $75 last Xmas, nice polished finished…..Santa sure knows what I need…..

For heavy duty at work DeWalt or Milwaukee, but DeWalt’s quality isn’t as good as it used to be when it first came out. I’m in Pipeline, most guys are switching over to Milwaukee from DeWalt except the Grinders. For home use Ryobi, I have a set of Ryobi and for stuff at home can’t beat the price.

After having various brands of power tools over the years, I was sold with dewalt. All my friends use them for their careers and swear by them. For me, I’m just the weekend warrior for tools, but I just recently went a little crazy buying tools. Picked up the dewalt xr bundle a couple months ago, followed by the dws780 miter, Costco had the dewalt 8 gallon shop vac on sale for 50 bucks so I picked that up too, followed by the xr jigsaw, and now I’m currently building a modular workbench(4 2’x4’ benches). Next will be a table saw and planer.

My Dewalt angle grinder is really nice. I have a lot of their plug in tools, but millwaukee for battery.

Plug in dewalt sander, buffer, heat gun, angle grinder are all great.

    Thank you.

At the moment I only have two batteries(2aH and 5aH) for the dewalt stuff, I have a couple other batteries for my other cheap brushless power tools. If I didn't have those, I would be slowed down by constantly switching batteries between tools and waiting for either battery cool down/charging time. Then again I'm mainly using mine for wood working, so I'm always using the drill/driver, jigsaw, orbital sander, oscillating tool, and the circular saw. Do I want more batteries? Heck yeah! At the moment I can get by, plus it helps not being in the garage all day and then I can spend the downtime between charges taking a break or spending quality time with the miss.

Get Makita. A year ago Milwaukee had an embarrassing incident where they cheapened out on a redesign of impact wrench and had to go back to old design.

Have a Makita drill my parents bought for me in 1989. Still running strong on original batteries. It’s from back in the days before drills had clutches. Makita has probably gone cheaper over the years, but I tend to stick with them.
Really can’t go wrong with whatever you go with, all the brands are getting closer and closer to each other.

I jinxed it….a couple days ago I posted my Kobalt batteries have held up with heavy use since 2016…..well I finally had a 2A battery lose a cell yesterday.
Soooo…. I went online to scope out a replacement. Right now if you order online to have the order shipped to your local Lowe’s store you can get a 85w charger and two 4A batteries for $149….just an OK deal….but you also get a choice of a FREE tool! I might do this again for another free tool + batteries and charger.
    I added a 5” grinder($129 value).
Now I have 3, one for cutoff wheels, one for flap discs and one for a hard grinder wheel.
A 85w charger, two 4A batteries and a tool for $149….works for me.
During my working years(7yrs/ago)I was lead on a fabrication crew and always bought DEWALT for everyone, great tools but their batteries sucked. The replacement batteries were so expensive, I bought a couple dozen full kits just to get batteries and chargers as it was the $martest way. We had extra drill motors all over the place.
3 grinders? I hate stopping to change wheels in the middle of projects, grab and go preferred.

Recently had to upgrade my circular saw and drill and went with DeWalt since my last cordless 9.6v drill from them lasted 25 years (actually still works, just has a bad brush). Also love the huge power options which can be key for some. I also love the yellow for visibility.

Now I have the XR circular saw, XR chain saw, XR Hammer drill, XR Impact drill, XR Oscillating drill, Wok light, XR reciprocating saw and just picked up the weed Wacker which is superior to my gas powered Stihl.
