You’re in the same boat as me. That’s what mine is giving me also.

Gotcha. So I guess we have to move over to the freight stage first. The weird thing is my dealer keeps telling me it is due in to port this week. Have been told that for 3 straight weeks now. Lol. So I am assuming they are just guessing?

They are. My salesman has told me nothing and this is not my first rodeo. LOL. Went thru the same thing with my 21 tundra Pro and my 20 AG 4runner Pro.

Sorry to hear that. My wife was the same way. Turns out her eyes had changed and the contacts she was wearing were causing her depth perception to be off. Once corrected, the accidents stopped. Might be worth it to get her eyes checked.

One-at-this-price stripper. Bought new 34 yrs ago, a $13K leftover. Added Detroit TruTrac, 1”rear spring spacer and “pinstripes”… Factory AC kit and roof rack bought at dealer cost at time of purchase, still blows ice cold 32yrs later. 2022 AG ORP all stock.
Toyota is having no problems selling the 5th gens as fast as they can make them. Tooling and assembly line already set up = Profit maker.

You can’t “order” a car. They can have you sign a form and they can hope to get one on allocation

Thanks, someone clarified that earlier too. It’s funny how deep the salesman went into his speech about the 12-16 week timeline due to it being manufactured in Japan then shipped to the Port of Newark then on a train to its next destination before being trucked to the dealership. Gotta ‘love’ salespeople…

Its the dangest thing to get a sales person to keep you in the loop when you are trying to purchase a vehicle.

In my experience all it took was finding a "civil, honest" person willing to be free with important information that most people, not on a forum, are concerned with. Took a short amount of time, But I was able to fine an honest contact that I have been with happy through 2 purchases.

Granted that the internet has added a level of difficulty to a purchase, i feel that some take this a s challenge to.... How can I say this. Manipulate the final outcome to benefit the dealer and make the purchaser assume they got a terrific deal.

Not going to wax poetic, But if the deal does not feel right, Back out.

Not sure about 4Runner but in my case at the height of the car shortage (Dec 2021) that 12 - 16 week would have been pretty accurate. He should be able to come back at you with a pretty close (if not exact match on the next monthly allocation_ 4 weeks). If you accept, then you should have a VIN in 8 weeks, and delivered within 4 more. So that 12-16 could workout…. The hog trading on allocation usually occurs between dealerships trading allocations. This is how they avoid additional shipping fees. (Final destination fees are still there but instead of going to the original dealership, it will go straight to dealership that sold the vehicle.) ** Once again, I’m basing this on Lexus and may not be correct.**

Yes. You and I are in the same boat (no pun intended). I put my deposit down for a 2023 ORP KDSS about five months ago - no luck yet.

How long did they say? It may be that they have one that matches already allocated to them, there are not a lot of factory options but color can cause a big delay.

Otherwise, I jumped 3 people ahead of me because they wanted a specific color and I did not care what color I got..I placed my deposit in mid-october and took delivery late january. The silver one that came in after mine went to a guy who put his deposit in 8 months prior. They cannot order, they pretty much take what they're given. Weirdest thing I've ever seen but I'm used to Ford where you can order it exactly the way you want it and it will be built specifically for you.

He said 12-16 weeks. I suspect me wanting KDSS complicated things.

I’d prefer that the salesman just state the allocation process rather than blow smoke up my rear end about the order/build process. Yet another example of why I don’t like salespeople.

Is the tracker website down or not working for anybody else? Original vin I had for my build is now coming back as not found. It was still in the allocation phase as of yesterday. Wondering if it may have been a temp vin and it has transitioned over to a permanent vin that I don’t have yet.

Usually when the true VIN is assigned the dealerships will list the vehicle on their website showing “In Transit”. It’s a way of luring in customers even though it’s already sold. Look and see if you can find an exact match on their website. If you do, I bet that’s your true VIN. (FYI… I had the Lexus App on my iPhone with all the Enform features etc, it caused some confusion when their tech guy was trying to set things up. We had to delete the App and reinstall on delivery day to get remote start, etc… to work.)

I just checked my dealers Vin to my other one and it looks like it changed. But the tracker is stilling giving a error like the other post said. If I recall I think the same happen with my other Pro’s.

When you guys say “tracker” are you referring to the Toyota App. As seen below? Because that’s what I used to see the Pre-delivery Inspection, etc…. IMG_0520.jpg

OK, now I understand. If you want, you can install the actual Toyota App, and under “Service History” you can see when the PDI has been done. That’s how I knew when mine rolled off the truck at the dealership. Note** As mentioned before, I had to uninstall the app on delivery day because the Technology guy couldn’t enter the info because I had already done so.

Thanks. I have the app with my 21 Toyota Tundra pro I use it for. But sold it. I will try it that way and see what happens.

Yeah I probably have to remove my old vin and add the new one to check on the app. The Vin at the dealer on my Pro is different then what was on my spec sheet. So it probably changed.

Yeah just add new vehicle (using the new Permanent VIN)… my Toyota App shows both my Lexus and 4Runner and Vice versa with the Lexus App showing the Lexus and the 4Runner. Just use the switch vehicle button at the bottom and swipe left or right to change to a different vehicle. Lot’s of extra work, but I know what it’s like to be waiting on a new vehicle…. You want to know the second it arrives…lol

It’s definitely something wrong with the site. It does it with every vehicle vin I put in. Odd.

When I add my new vin to remote app it’s shows the 4runner pro and correct color. But that’s it.

Yeah, apologize for that. Lol. That’s my fault and I am the one who started the thread. I will keep it on track. My main reason for starting the thread was to determine if waiting on my current 2023 was good or if there would be new features introduced in the least year. I still haven’t seen anything at all on the 2024 model year. The weird thing is my 2023 is still showing in allocation which seems to be getting a little late I’m the year to still be a 2023. I was secretly hoping it would default over to a 2024. No luck though.

I’m waiting for the first person to acknowledge they got a MY24, hoping one of these where’s my runner folks will break the ice.
