We are not new yo Toyota but finally bought a 2023 TRD Off Road 4 Runner. It seems to be a great vehicle even though we have had it only a few days. I do have two issues
1 the back up camera sucks because it is really blurry and apparently all the new models are like that. Went back today to look at another new 4 Runner and it was the same way.
2 we had them put on running boards today so it would be easier for my wife to get in , well they suck also because you can hardly get your foot on the running board. They are Toyota brand from Toyota. Talking with them about swapping for the Predator Running Boards should know something tomorrow.
There are probably a few more inconveniences we haven't found yet. My comment is more of a vent than a question. I've noticed other people complaining about the camera .Thanks for the add.

Welcome! The camera is even worse when it's wet. However, it sure beats not having a camera at all.

Congrats on your purchase and welcome to the forum.

I am hoping something comes out to clear up the camera issue. Would think in 2023 resolution and clarity would be a lot better. My 2007 Tundra is leaps and bounds above my 4Runner.

Did you try cleaning the lens for the camera? Mine is a different year, and it gets blurry when it is dirty.

Welcome from Wisconsin! We have the predator R/B's, they work for us, they are kind of low when off-roading, so be careful when clearance is an issue!

I haven't noticed any blurriness with the camera on my 2023 but I don't use it that much, I still wrap my right arm around the back of the passenger seat and turn my head to look out the back and side windows. Maybe it does suck and I haven't noticed.

Good looking truck -- Magnetic Gray Metallic is a great color!

I am surprised you said that -- my last vehicle's camera was much worse and I think 4R is just right.
I am guessing what you are used to prior to 4R matters. :)

Welcome Reelbuddy65. We have the auto floorboards on our 4runner. They seem to work just fine for entry/exit of vehicle. As for back up camera my neighbors Lexus put ours to shame..

Well, none of my previous vehicles had backup cameras, but most of the rentals I've had in the last 6-8 years have had better cameras than the 4R. My particular dislike is that when it's raining, drops of water distort the view, sometimes to the point of uselessness.

On a more positive note, the 4R's 360 rock-cam view is excellent for parking. I can judge placement better than any car I've ever driven, and the side cameras seem less prone to water-drop distortion in the rain.

Aah, I don't have 360 view. I would have been cool to have it but at the time I didn't have too many ORPs that had that camera/view.
