New style still has plastic center caps. Just different.

I have a 23 ORP. They gave me Pro wheels and a note apologizing for it. I was only upset that they gave me chrome lug nuts. The silver ORP wheels looked like crap.

Fortunately, the black lug nuts are relatively cheap. Think I paid about $35 for the set (Toyota OEM).

Some will claim the TRDOR wheels are better cause they are wider, protect the stem better, etc... but agreed, I didn't like the way they look. First world problems - blah blah blah.

After reading this thread, I'm glad I bought the newer style TRD Pro wheels back when they first were introduced. Little more unique knowing they are having to ship the older style right now.

Well it did sit at port for several months and go through train and truck travel to get to me. I assumed the plastic wrap was off the hood because they had to install the hood deflector. I picked it up with 2 miles on the odometer.

Having a new vehicle with similar wheels (same dimension, ~same weight, same appearance to most non-forum members) >>> having a vehicle held up due to...center caps.
Talk to your dealer before/upon delivery of your Runner. They may be able to swap the wheels for the newer style IF you are willing to roll without center caps.

I had the new style wheels on my 2022 4runner that I traded in for my pro and the dealer swapped them for me.IMG_0896.png IMG_0941.jpg

Solar Octane looks much better with the new style wheel. Those tires look great also!

I guess the center caps on the new pro wheels can not be used on the older pro wheels?

I spoked with my dealership yesterday parts department and the guy told me there is over 2400 back ordered center caps for the Pro wheels. The wheels are available but no center caps.

Anecdata: We bought a 2023 TRD Pro a week ago from Alexandria Toyota (Washington DC area), and it came with the old style wheels.

Anyone with a 2024 TRD Pro able to share which wheel type they got?

Shouldn't there be a concession from Toyota to 2023 owners for the failure to deliver the wheel described and promised in all the sales literature? I know they have changed it now, but for all of us who were expecting the new wheels...

This is all great info. I just picked up a '23 sr5 and want to replace the stock silver sr5 rims with the trd rims; now the debate, old style flat/matte or new? Looks like the finish on the newer style would be easier to keep clean vs the older style(?).

My dealer installed wheels and tires on my 2024 OR as part of their "Adventure Series" upgrades before I saw it for the first time. I only knew a little about Toyota details then, but I thought the rig looked great. A couple of weeks after the purchase, I realized I had the "new" wheels, but the dealer had painted the center cap details yellow. I thought I had an older style of wheels since I only saw the Sema wheels on the multitude of 4Runners in my community. While the paint on the center caps was done pretty well, I could see some red under the yellow poking through, and decided to go for the stock look. I found four new style center caps in red at Frontier Toyota online and paid $12.42/cap.

Someone at a dealer was actually sitting around and thought "hey, let's paint those yellow". Mind blown.

Right!? I was scouring the internet trying to find a yellow center cap until I realized the dealer painted them. It makes no sense! I didn't hate the yellow, but I like the red better.
