I’m pretty sure I cracked the back panel on the back of my rear seats when sitting on them. Are there any problems that may come up in the future.

    Welcome to the forum!
Do you have any pictures of the damaged area? What year 4Runer do you currently have?

I have a 23 and i do not have pictured but when feeling the other left seat compared to the right seat on the back it definitely feels like one of the panels is cracked. and thanks!

I tool my panel off a while back because I was thinking of making a thicker panel that could take some weight…which which is why I have the pic below.

The panel is plastic and it’s mounted onto some steel strap that is welded to the frame. Hopefully it didn’t crack a weld on one of the straps.

When you take the plastic panel off, make sure to use a trim pry tool at the point where the green clips are.

In my case, I was seeing if I could make one out of 1/4 plywood or similar…so it could serve as part of the load floor. But in the end decided not to do that. Since I don’t like the idea of the seat back structure as a whole being a load surface. Might make a whole removable superstructure over the seats that will take flooring, and bolt in at the seat bottom bolt points. It’s not this year’s project though.

Gonna jump in and ask for tips on loading large heavy items in the interior. I pushed the seats forward, I figure the load resting closer to the base of the seat frame is better. Did you break yours?
I loaded the F out of a matrix for a long time and have already had piles of boxes and the set of stock tires in this thing. The stock tire rolls perfectly out the back with ~2mm clearance to the headliner I love it.

Why not just get a plywood (primed and paint) to lay across whilst loading heavy items.
Itself of ripping apart the interiors. My 2c
