The flip side is you guys are getting a much better price than those of us that bought 6 months ago … at least that’s what I saw on YouTube.

It had 800 miles on it, the owner of the dealership was going to buy it but swapped for a Tacoma. And I was in the dealership when they decided to list it. So I bought it on the spot.

Hello fellow Utahn. After seeing the old Pro wheels on Solar Octane, I actually think the newer style looks better with that color and Lunar rock.

Yeah if mine comes with the old wheels I may have to buy the newer ones when available and sell the old ones.

Update: My dealer was able to source a set of new wheels and center caps. They had 6 of each in their warehouse. They swapped out the wheels before I accepted delivery.

They were great. They understood I was disappointed and quickly resolved it.

If anyone is interested, I also called several dealerships in my area trying to source the wheels and center caps. Almost everyone had the wheels in stock same day. Legends Toyota in Kansas City, Kansas had the center caps. I believe they had 8 or 10 in hand.

Inconceivable! Lol, that is service my friend! I'm a bit slow but haven't seen much difference between the two, I haven't seen them SXS though. Makes me wonder if Toyota is taking care of it when people bitch. Maybe I should....

I read that the new wheels have more offset, I thought it was just a finish thing, can anyone confirm?

Nothing like a managers special they had to sell it as this was ordered by a customer that changed their mind. The Halifax car market took a dip and they’re not selling through Tacomas and 4Runners as fast as they were during COVID. Right place right time.

    This is incorrect.

Both are 17x7 with +4 offset. I believe the new wheels are flow formed.

So the only difference is the finish, and the weight...I wonder how much lighter the flows are?

Pretty much, there's another thread where a member weighed the new style and got a little over 22lbs.

I didn’t realize there was a difference in build between old and new. A few months ago I had a chance to buy both (since I have a TRD Off Road). First I said I’d go with the new ones not because they are new, but seeing them in person (matte vs flat) I ended up going with the old style. I wanted to deepen the black even further with a ceramic coating before installing them. Happy with result.

Less than a pound lighter, but supposedly stronger. 24.5 vs 23.7#s.

Can someone describe the finish of old vs new if you’ve seen both?

It's about the same on the metal. I prefer the newer style as no plastic center CAPS to break.

Old style is matte which feels like cardboard and reflects very little light.
New style is satin which feels like copy paper and has a noticeable sheen.

Seriously... Looks like a Demo or customer return... Mine was covered with plastic wrap on delivery.
I wouldn't have it cleaned or unwrapped until i was there for washing/pickup

Yikes— I’m seeing the new bronze center caps on eBay for $100+ each. Imagine paying $400 for 4 plastic center caps.

Fortunately (in this case for some of you) the new wheels need to be taken off the truck in order to remove the center caps.

The older style just pops right off the wheels. Not the case with the new ones.
