What do you have still waiting to be installed?

Just got the RCI lower link skid plates as well as the rear shock mount skids. Looks like the lower link skid install is a bit more involved than a simple bolt on..kinda not looking forward to doing it. Haven’t looked into what’s involved with the rear shock mount skids yet.

Well I can knock a lot off my list since last weekend. Wiper blade inserts put on, rear valance swapped, de-rusted and repainted hitch, installed rear swingout, installed rear camera relocation kit, anytime front/rear camera, and rago dash mount (recent addition to the pile).

Still on the list:
Repaint front bumper
Install OVS 180 awning
Install blue sea switch for winch (vs hardwired)
AVS hood and window shields

 

Just got home from a school and some of the stuff I ordered was already at the house I don't have a 4runner yet but I pick it up at the dealer tomorrow

These are a few of the things I have yet to install.

 

My FSR Aspen Lite RTT waiting to be installed:

 

Eibach 2.0 coilovers kit with rear reservoirs.

I've had it for 4 months, it took 3 months to arrive and I'm not sure I want to go in that direction. Shoot, I'm not even sure if I want to mod the 4R, I kind of want an actual trail rig and I've since fallen in love with 80s.

 

I have the same kit, haha. The shocks look so nice, though the front 2.0s look kind of spindly. I wish they offered them in a 2.5" body shock.

 

I have a new gas tank skid plate waiting + 3 decals: US Flag, Don’t Tread on Me, and 42.

 

I just bought what appears to be an older gen RCI front skid. There is no front diff popout. Looks like it was never used. I'm going to the hardware store tomorrow for bolts and washers. Wish it was aluminum but price was right for this one.

 

Not my 4R. Nyguyen rear bumper. It will be painted Nauti Blue to match. Mrs. insisted, even though it's my truck. (Ha ha) Ordered Jan 3rd and delivered May 8th. Has been at the painters' for 2 weeks. I'll get plugs for the X-member holes when the time comes. X-member/hitch will be black. Should be installed before Aug.

So I have this in the garage queue still. Plan to drill in the recovery points this summer during the same time period as skids off, oil change, tire rotation, rust proofing.
To answer installing without taking engine skid off, I'm not sure it it can be done. But I've heard for KDSS the crash bar has to come off as well to gain drill access I assume. I'm gunna be busy, haha, keep you posted

 

I got most of the way there on the driver's side, but it wasn't worth leaving the skid plate on. There's not enough clearance to wrench freely and taking it off was quicker and easier than I expected. I hope my driver's-side grab handle is as easy.

 

Let us know about the CSF. Mine leaked from day one. Pain in the ass to return.

Westcott Designs modular rack. Not exactly sure when I'll install yet as it's main use will be a RTT and I'm not sure when I'm getting that yet but couldn't pass on the deal

Hey dude, so I got it off Etsy and just sent it on there with gorilla glue or krazy glue. Hasn't moved since!

Did you figure out the torque spec for the rear shocks? I keep looking at installs and no one puts that info down.

 

According to https://trail4runner.com/2020/06/17/5th-gen-4runner-torque-specs/ it is 70 ft lbs. I can’t remember the videos I watched but they also did 70.
