I just purchased a 4Runner lifestyle front and rear black valence for my 2023 lunar rock. They seem rather cheap to be putting on a 50k truck. I have never personally seen the quality of OEM first hand. Is it that big of a difference? I also am waiting to receive a tacovinyl faux Trd pro grill and can’t imagine the quality to be much better. I did purchase a OEM skid plate from a Toyota dealer and the quality surpassed my expectations which sparked this thread. Any input appreciated

Color/texture can be a bit different. Thickness/brittleness maybe. For most the cost difference is not worth it. I bought most of the oem pieces used so it was the best of both worlds hahaha

If you do a search, you should come across a few threads discussing all of the info you could ever want on this topic. Unless the search function sucks you should find what you're looking for.

the tacovinyl grill is OK. the bar is good. the upper grill is very poor quality.

The 4runner lifestyle front valence came in last night and I was not impressed so I ordered a OEM front valence online to compare the quality and return whichever makes sense as far as cost and quality. I will wait to see what the tacovinyl TRD grille and black out emblems look like to see if I will do the same and order OEM or not.

I am pretty picky and had the same mindset... I went with OEM valances, but a YotaXpedition heritage grill on my 23 LR ORP. I would recommend both.

I just ended up ordering both front and rear valance as well as TRD grill from Toyota. As much as it hurt spending almost 1k on parts plastic parts I will feel better knowing they are OEM and direct fit. Now hopefully i will be able to return to 4runner lifestyle and Tacovinyl with no issues. I should have learned from my high school honda days not to order cheap parts LOL.

Eh, it's not that much better for the price in my opinion. When I removed my rear OEM silver valence it had 5 broken clips. No damage to the valance on the exterior at all that I could see and I picked it up from the dealer with 8 miles on it.

This is a valid argument that I'd never fault anyone for having, nor judge someone for. None of these parts are for anything but looks. But if you have the money and would prefer the oem pieces, I understand that as well. You'll know they'll fit as they should and the quality is slightly better than some and a lot better than others. My .02

Well the best part is i will have both OEM and aftermarket parts delivered next week. At that point I can determine myself if the quality of OEM is worth the price difference then hopefully return whichever I choose not to use.

Cool, could you take some pictures comparing the two if you don't mind and post em up? Would be useful info for the community as I don't think I've run across anyone comparing them side by side.

I can, but my front is covered in Xpel PPF now, so it looks a lot glossier than a stock OEM valance. I would have to post them later today as I am not near my truck.

I will post pictures and do a small write up of some sort on my opinion of the difference in quality and which product I choose. I will not be installing both though so i wont be able to speak as far as fitment goes.

What you are providing will be perfect. People can view other peoples vehicles to see/ask about fitment. Thank you
