I think the woman who claimed I was on her property had shitty eyesight, which is understandable...

One Doylestown resident said the police stopped them when they were checking the mail in their mailbox on their own property! This happened between late January and late February of 2013. 4 houses on the same street were burglarized by some heroin-addicted scumbag in less than a month. I had no way of knowing this...

Even crazier is that fact that the prime suspect was a 27-year old musician and guitar player who was working as the open mic host at the bar where I now work. He was an incredibly talented musician, and a nice enough guy, but like many great musicians, he dabbled in dope and got addicted. He came from a rich family who owned a house in Martha's Vineyard, and got arrested by the police up there with like $100K in stolen electronics and jewelry in the back of his Subaru. Ended up serving almost two years in jail up there, got clean, but promptly relapsed upon his release and eventually died of an overdose. Very sad...

I still believe that this is America and I should be able to walk around in public and take pictures of stuff, but at the same time I realize that the world and society as a whole is changing. It pisses me the hell off, but I realize what the world has come to...

The good news in all of this is that the photography incident, as well as that time I got pulled over for speeding in the same jurisdiction, have been largely forgotten...

Police in Doylestown now know me as that guy whose truck got hit by a drunk driver... I'll take that! Better than being known as a troublemaker...

I saw where someone plasti dipped their whole truck black (a beat up piece of crap), it is actually red in color. Made it look a lot nicer, lol. What better way to try out new colors on your truck? Haha

    @Riding Dirty

Something you should know is that I am somewhat bitter about the negative encounters I've had with people over my picture-taking, but I've long since learned my lesson. I just like to complain about the assholes I've dealt with!

Also, I've got quite an impressive collection of truck photos, most of which were either taken at car shows or with permission of the owner...

Also, do you know anyone who'd be willing to contribute photos of mint 2nd gen T4Rs? I've only photographed two since opening this thread, and only one is posted. It's a red one I spotted at the Carlisle Truck Nationals back in 2014...

    Exactly...

One time in like 2003-2004, I found an early 1990s T4R RWD (as in factory RWD, not front diff and transfercase removed) on Fleabay. It had rims from a 2001-2004 Tacoma, and somebody had dropped in a Chevy small block!

    @Riding Dirty

I'd find a mint 1993 T4R (newest of that generation that can be registered as an antique and thus exempted from emissions), and drop a diesel from a Euro Hilux in it...

    THAT would be epic!

    January 5th, 2018:

This truck is located on a property just off the on-ramp from Main Street to Route 611 in Doylestown. It has been sitting there for weeks, and January 5th, I finally stopped to a take a look...

I must say, this truck seems to in excellent condition and it seems that somebody really took care of it! For what they're asking, I could sell my 2010 Tacoma and only end up paying a difference of $2,000-$3,000! The one thing I can't fathom is buying a 10-year old vehicle with almost 170K miles (even it is a 5.7L Tundy in one of my favorite colors)!

How would I know for sure that it hasn't been wrecked? It's been brutally cold lately, so how would I know that the A/C would work when I used it for the first time in a few months?!?!

Regardless, this is a really nice truck. Like I said, it appears to have been lovingly maintained. Aside from an aftermarket double-DIN touch-screen head unit, it is pretty much stock...

    What do you think?

I changed some lights, tires and tinted windows...mind blowing huh

have it inspected by a mechanic you trust if you have any reservations about it, might cost a little up front but it's a really nice piece of mind to have. You could also pull a carfax report on it, but then you are at the mercy of things actually being reported to it.

The big thing is that I've had my Tacoma since it was brand new. It was a gift from my dad when I got my learner's permit, I've put a lot of money into customizing it, and I'm quite attached to it.

I can only afford one vehicle right now, and buying the Tundra would mean getting rid of my Tacoma...

If something happened to my Tacoma though, I'd totally buy this Tundy with the insurance money!

Hey PennSilverTaco, in the first 2 pics of you in the VW, I was trying to guess what you were driving. I guessed right and it made me think of my Dad and his 2 VW Double-cabs, ('63 & '64) that he had. Back in the early 2000's, one of my Nieces asked me to look at a '74 VW Westfalia out here in sunny So.Cal. When she first opened the door, she said, ewww it smells like an old man and then looked at me and said sorry Steve. I told her that it smells like my Dads double cabs did after a few days of camping in the So.Cal. deserts. She did buy that Westfalia and I ended up working on it a few times. My wife and I have a family member up in Washington State who has HFAS, and he's a gearhead too.

My dad looked out one of the upstairs windows and saw what appeared to be a dog in the catch basin behind our house. I caught a glimpse of the dog and believed it to be an English Bulldog. I ran out the back door and immediately began calling and whistling. My neighbor's dog started barking, but the Bulldog ignored him and ran to me. The dog had a harness, but no ID tags. At this point, I didn't even know if it was a he or a she, but the dog willingly followed me up the back steps. Like me, my dad pretty much fell in love with the dog on sight, and it was at that point we discovered he was a male...

These are the pictures I took in our screened-in porch, with the intention of posting them to Facebook in an attempt to find the owner...

My dad was driving his company truck that day since the Pilot was in the shop, and the dog was very eager to get in the truck. He'd been out in the cold for a while, so while we were driving around trying to see if we could find anybody who looked like they were looking for a dog, he positioned himself on the floor of the truck where the heat was blowing on him...

A short time later, he decided he wanted to ride between my dad and me...

    January 15th, 2018:

It was after 5pm at this point, which meant all regular vets would be closed. Luckily, there's an emergency vet on Easton Road that I drive past everyday. I still thought he was a $2,000+ English Bulldog, so I figured he had to have a chip. The trauma center was open, and the vet scanned his chip. Unfortunately, the chip had not been registered. In the meantime, my dad was on the phone with the local police, and they were about to take the dog to a shelter for the night. Luckily, the vet called the microchip company, gave them the serial number of the chip, and was able to get the owners' contact info.

She contacted the owners, and they ended up beating the police there. My dad called the police again, thanked them, and told them the crisis was averted...

So, the dog's owners showed up, and they were an older couple from Doylestown Borough. So, it turns out the dog's name is Bentley and he's about two years old. He is also not a purebred English Bulldog, just as the vet suspected upon looking at him. He's actually a Boxer/Bulldog mix.

Apparently, they'd taken Bentley to a park about two miles from my parents' house and let him run around off the leash. Bentley saw a deer, took off after the deer, and disappeared (I knew a Bulldog couldn't have made it from Doylestown to where I live as quickly Bentley did). Bentley's owners had been looking for him over an hour by the time the vet called them.

Bentley's owners were very grateful and wanted to pay us. My dad and I said no. They wanted our address so they could send us a bottle of wine. Again, we said no...

Just seeing him safely reunited with his owners was reward enough!

Here are some pictures I took of Bentley in the vet's office...

There was a kitten in a cage in the waiting room, and Bentley wanted to go investigate. Bentley was not the slightest bit aggressive toward the cat...

Normally, I keep Tacoma pics in my primary TacomaWorld.com thread, T4R pics in my 4Runners.com thread (this one), and Tundy pics in... Well, you get the idea!

There's a neat little story behind how I ended up photographing this Taco, so I figured I'd share it!

This is a 2005 AC 4x4, base model with 2.7L and 5-speed stick! One frame replacement under its belt from the recall, but 180K miles on the original engine and tranny!

So I was taking my boss's dog for a walk around the block, and just before 7:45, this red 2nd gen pulled into the parking lot of a local church.

I stood at the entrance to the parking lot and waited patiently for the driver to get out, and began the conversation by asking "Is your Tacoma Barcelona red?!?!"

The owner, an older guy, kinda chuckled and told he'd had it repainted (I knew it was too bright to be a factory color).

So we got to talking (which is how I learned about the truck's history and mileage). A dog owner himself, the guy absolutely loved my boss's dog Tully. I then noticed that the guy was wearing a "NAVY VETERAN" windbreaker and said "as the son of a Navy vet, I'd like to thank you for your service." This then sparked a conversation about the Navy (always fun for me).

The owner, John, told me there were two things he disliked about his Tacoma. The first was the lack of intermittent windshield wipers (I told him how easy this was to fix and encouraged him to check out TW). The second was the lack of power windows. This is only the third 2nd generation AC I've see with crank windows, and only the second I've seen in person. On top of that, this is the only 6-lug AC I've seen with crank windows! The other two were 5-luggers!

Oh, and before John went inside, I asked him if I could take pictures of his truck, and he said yes, so here ya go!

From a distance, I thought this was a 5th Gen TRD PRO, but it's actually a nicely modified 4th Gen!
