all doors unlock immediately after depressing lock button on drivers door

I use the key to unlock the doors and depress the lock button on the drivers door to lock them. Recently when I would depress the button to lock the doors when getting out, all of the doors lock but then they all immediately unlock. It is as if it is protecting from something (key is still in the ignition, lights on, etc).

If I unplug the drivers door lamp switch (the pin that depresses when the door is closed) it works normal - all the doors lock and stay locked (or unlock) when I hit the drivers door lock button.

I have switched the lamp switches with new and that did not fix it.

This in turn does not turn on the dome light when I get in the truck which is my main concern and would like to fix it.

There is only one fuse for the door locks in the box under the hood and it is not blown.

I do not think it is the actuator because it works as it should with the lamp switch unplugged.

    Any help is appreciated.

Did you try the same lock button (switch) on the passenger side? I don't have a Gen4, but I think all Toyotas have the lock-all switch on both front doors.

I replace both side switches with new and it did not fix it. The passenger side stays plugged in.

Could be a faulty switch in the ignition that makes the truck think the key is still there.

Great thought. I think that’s highly possible I’ve had trouble with the ignition cylinder. Do you by chance know where the switch in the ignition is? Thank you

I don't. But maybe a search online would help, like a YouTube video. Someone on here may have done it, too.
