Not paying attention and ordered 265 70R17 BFG KO2’s LOAD E to put on OEM TRD 17x7 wheels.

These are a second set of wheels. Haven’t put them on my 2022 ORP
    yet.

Am I going to regret this? I know the diff between load c and e. The load e variety was what tire rack returned as a match, and I just ordered. Did not check the load until I picked up and tech said “those tires are heavy sobs”

I guess I will find out. Light off-roading is all I intend.

    Live and learn

They're heavier, but they suit my purpose. My vehicle wasn't really made to hurry anyway.

Ride was to hard for me in BFG load range E. Upside is you have a stronger sidewall off road.

I got disappointed going BFG KO2 265/70R17 Load C to BFG KO2 275/70R17 Load E. I sold them and got BFG KO2 285/70R17 Load C. Got the comfort back. In my books if Rubicon trail rated Wrangler Rubicon xtrem get BFG KO2 Load C or even the huge Ford F150 Raptor get BFG KO2 Load C my 4Runner don't need Load E.

Same here, I had them on my Pro-4x Xterra and didnt care for them. Wet traction grip was suspect as well. I switched to P-Metric Falken WildPeak AT3W's back then and was much happier. When I got my 4Runner, and got my TRD Pro wheels, I put 285/70/17 WildPeaks on it as well. I do very minimal off-roading and these gave been just fine when airing down to 20psi. Around town, the WildPeaks have been great, very comfortable, I roll at 35psi.

Going to swap this weekend. I’ll give a few hundred miles or so of varied driving. But it doesn’t sound promising.

I’m happy with mine. It’s a truck so I’m not expecting the same ride as my Audi.

This is my second 4Runner with these. My first had 110,000 miles on it when I sold it. 85,000 were with these e rated b f Goodrich 265’s I ran them at 58 psi on all 4. When I sold the car we had 85,000 miles on these e rated tires and they still looked great with mileage left. In 2022 we bought another 4Runner trail version and actually ordered the tires and stored them before we bought it. On delivery I had them installed, again at 58psi in all 4. We now have 33,000 miles on them and they look great. Our mileage went up with the 58psi pressures and the ride is good on the highway as well. They are a huge win in my experience, now on 2 4Runners. We could not be happier with these tires and they have been in snow and sleet up north and dirt, rock roads. And hurricanes here in south Florida. I absolutely love them and they have saved us in a few tricky driving conditions. Nothing but great from my experience. IMG_9118.jpg

I am running ko2 e rated also by mistake, but the dealer's mistake. Honestly I think it is a non issue. You might average a half or 1 mpg down from the extra weight, but I for one don't believe the comfort is compromised much.

Thanks for responses. I’ve had them on over a week. I average about 300 miles or so per week.

    1. Mileage did not change. I was at 19.9 for previous week. After week installed 19.8. So no effect/negligible/other factors. I’m usually between 19.4 and 20.2 from what I’ve tracked.
    2. Noise, slight hum, barely noticeable, not noticeable with windows up/radio on
    3. Ride, maybe a little harsher, but not much. It’s a truck, it rode like a truck before, and rides like one now.
    4. I like them. I chose white letters out, because I’m a creature of the 70s and I like that hot wheels look.

So bottom line, happy with choice. Keeping them.

I’m still up in air on selling ORP wheels and Dunlop tires. They don’t fetch much. I know it is what is, but $600 wheels and $700 plus worth tires, $240 TPMs, I’d have to give away $1500 for $500 and even then it probably wouldn’t sell.

Finally, right now they are at 37 psi. I may change that.

So long as they continue to not get flats at job sites and when I occasionally off road, I'll happy with Es. So tired of getting flats all the time.

I sold my dunlops for 400, but it took 6 months on Craigslist. Be patient and someone will buy them, lots of people like highway tires and even more like the idea of factory option. Just bag them and keep them in a shed/garage.

Also, yeah I'm white letters out... It's the only way to go!

58psi??? I would have thought that would cause accelerated center tread wear, unless you are dumptruck weights.

Better to have $500 in your pocket than $1500 worth of stuff that you may never use.

I love my Kenda Klevers Load E. I do offroad a lot in Colorado so a lot of sharp rocks etc... I've had them for over a year and they still look new. I guess the harder rubber last longer. They are a bit harder on the street but if you use them like I do, the peace of mind is priceless. I will def keep running them.

It will definitely be a more "truck" like ride with those tires. They are also heavier, which will impact your performance some. I recently shared an article on another thread showing how rotational weight equates to static weight. The ratio is about 11:1. So for every extra pound of rotational weight you add to the truck, it's equivalent to adding an additional 11 lbs of static weight. Not hard to see how this can add up quickly and result in poor acceleration. You get her tuned yet?? :anonymous:;):D
