What are the Pros and Cons of each? TRD Pro costs an extra $5000, I was wondering if its worth it. Thanks

I got a ORP with KDSS and then waited for a ProBro to ditch their Fox stuff after a few months for Kings. I got a sweet deal on Fox Pro shocks for all 4 corners with less than 5000 miles on it, put it on my KDSS ORP and got best of both.

if you want one of the true unique colors look at a pro. some of the recent pro colors made its way down to other trims like lime rush and lunar rock. sure wish voodoo blue made its way down

TRD Pro has better resale value. But, does that resale cover the difference in the initial price. Most of the time. no.

For rock crawling I expect your going to need to modify. I would not buy a Pro spending the premium and then start modifying it. But I guess this comes down to if Pro Fox suspension meets your needs or you want to pick your own.

Jeep is really a better suited vehicle to rock crawl but that's a different topic.

Agreed. If rock crawling is the ultimate goal, buy an SR5 and upgrade to whatever you need from there.

rock crawling is not the goal. otherwise a 3rd gen with solid axls swap would be the best choice. But if kdss gives me slightly more flex then why not

The KDSS system adds stability in cornering on the road, and under certain speeds offroad acts like a swaybar disconnect, giving more articulation. Both of these attributes are why so many who have KDSS like it.

One call out on KDSS is it's not available in all markets. We don't get them in Texas. I like the idea of it but it does add complexity and maintenance.

On and off road I like the idea of improved handling. Keep it clean for long term reliability. Expensive to repair if needed down the road.

I can confirm with personal experience in the rear TRD Pro Fox have more flex than KDSS.

Technically in front KDSS should have more flex. Have to test next time when I get my hands on buddy's 4R with KDSS. Sadly he lives 1 hour+ from me, so its not like stop by on a weekend and ask give me your keys. :D

Never mind, it's a teeny tiny 2.4 l turbocharged. What a disgrace to the land cruise nameplate. Back to kdss 4runner

Seeing what happened to Tundra with electronic wast gate failures needing a engine out job I think I will wait and let the 2.4 turbo hybrid powertrain prove it self.
