Yeah. Plus my wife will kill me if I bring it up after having dropped 50K on a new 4Runner just a few months back ;)

Actually, I forgot, a new engine/transmission is actually a plus to me, the 5th gen trans annoys me no end. That said, I can live with it since I'm half way through paying mine off. We're getting close to no car payments, which would be nice.

An article in True Car that was up on the net and then taken down. The photos and discussion are all over the Forums now except here because ....well I guess you can figure out why.

60K starting, cloth seats non adjustable, no eKDSS, 4 cyl Turbo Hybrid, very cheap looking plasticky interior sub-4Runner level....there are also pictures around on a Round headlight version.

The truck in the lead on this picture is the new FJ70 for Global, Third World Markets, and now for Japan...

I'll still wait for the official announcement to be disappointed.

I will say, though, that I don't actually think it looks bad aside from the front. :notsure:

I like it, but if it’s starting at $60k, I’m curious what the differences between this and the 6th gen 4R will be to justify a $15k-$20k higher price. Is it going to be mostly tech/luxury upgrades, which is already basically the difference between current 4R and the GX? Assuming the 6th gen 4R is actually happening within a couple years, this is such a confusing group of SUVs that Toyota is putting together.

The front is what I don’t like either. The rest is okay.

Not for $60k starting. That’s a lot of nope. I’ll just buy a 23 or 24 Gen 5 and be done for another 10 years.

certainly less polarizing than the FJ Cruiser or the current GX...

New 70 series looks good. Land Cruiser looks like the GX with different sheet metal front and rear. I’m guessing the 4R will be similar.

Watching it live on instagram from some people that are at the unveiling event. Seems like those recent pics are legit

Toyota specs seem to be a less capable machine than the current 4R. Less ground clearance, smaller approach angle…jeeezus. I can only hope I read some bad info.

    Sorry for spamming posts..

He also mentioned a starting price of mid $50k. Maybe these LCs replace the pro trim of the 6th gen 4R?

I don’t dislike the round headlight variant nearly as much as the square one.

Honestly, the front is not as aggressive as my 5th gen. There’s something about the heritage grill on 5th gen that just looks very good. I didn’t get the same vibes from either trims they just now showed.

Hmmm... The introduction of a " Land Cruiser 1958" trim made me start to think that it is possible they could get rid of the 4Runner. o_O

On the other hand, if it's going to start in the mid 50s, maybe the 4Runner will be made a hair smaller and come in at a lower price point. :notsure:
