Nice render! I kinda wish at least one of the three - 4R, LC, or GX, would have a bumper designed to be easily replaced with something more durable and winch capable. I mean, regardless of what you think of Jeep, they have that option - it's not cheap - but you can fold it into your car payment as a dealer install.

    Not bad!

I wish Toyota would do away with the fake non-functional hood scoops. But, what can you do.

Alright, I'll break the mold and say I don't like it - although I would agree it's probably more accurate than anything else I've seen.

The reasons I don't like it are:
    • Looks like a longer body and/or wheel base - would hope they don't do that
    • Wheel wells look equally difficult to stuff larger tires, if wanted
    • Bumper facia attaches halfway up the headlight, way up on the fender. Difficult for full size bumper replacement
    • Is that supposed to be a lightbar/raptor lights under the toyota grill?
    • Don't like the deep-V fake inverse hood scoop

I don't see anything about the rendering that makes it look longer. But, the GX wheelbase grew by 2.36", so it's possible that the 4Runner's could as well.

OTOH, I kind of doubt that they are going to make the 4Runner in the land cruiser the exact same size. So, being that it's such a close wheelbase to our existing wheelbase, it is conceivable that the 4Runner might actually get a tad smaller.:notsure:

Also, it is the body mount and firewall that make it difficult to fit tires. So, it's hard to get any perception of that from a one-dimensional rendering.

I certainly hope that isn't some kind of crappy light bar integrated into the grill, but on the other hand it is just a rendering.

It's actually very similar to the current 5th gen front end, now that I look at it some more.

Yeah, depending on how I look at it the wheel base could be the same or shorter (when I zoom in to just the doors and wheels) but something about it looks Yukon XL/Grand Wagoneer/escalade EXT - like it's a long version of something.

Agree with body mounts/firewall, I just definitely see trimming needed for offset wheels or even slightly larger tires (sound familiar?) :)

I didn't say anything about the hood.

Look at the actual shape of the headlights. Look at the darkened areas where the fog lights are mounted and the lines underneath them. Also look at the shape of top of the grill.

I don't think anyone else on this forum is interested in that bloated land-yacht. They're wonderful vehicles, I'm sure. But, too big for the games I play. :D. Give me the 250 series (although, I'm not loving the grille in the renderings I've seen)!

    I like this rendering.

I just hope the ass end doesn't look like a 90's Previa minivan like the new Sequoia.

For the 4Runner, we won't know until Q1 2024, for the Land Cruiser 250, we will know tonight at 8pm EST.

Don't hold your breath, the LC twin, the GX 550...

This would bug me, for sure. When the FJ Cruisers came out, I went and looked at one. Seeing the seat backs sitting at an angle when folded was a huge turnoff, among other things.

I would be totally cool with reducing 4Runner size slightly. I don't think it needs to be a 3 row SUV. I know this likely means lesser cargo space, and usually all OEMs are moving towards larger, not smaller vehicles y-o-y.

I want to restate my prediction: with grand highlander in lineup there is even lesser reason for the customer to buy sequoia. Its a larger vehicle that uses third row inefficiently. Yes I understand its body on frame, but I doubt many buyers of 3 row SUVs want or care for that.
When they came out with sequoia I was like wtf!? You just came out with LX that has completely fold flat third row!

How many of us are planning to sell their 5th gen and get a Landcruiser?

I might have bought a Land Cruiser instead of a 4R if they were available, but I see no compelling reason to switch now that I have something I like.

Hard to say why I'd get a new vehicle. From the GX specs, doesn't look like much of an upgrade from the 5th gen in terms of capabilities. I mean, yeah, if the LC has room to fit taller tires with zero mods, then I'm interested, otherwise, it sounds like same old, same old with a different engine. Also depends on whether it has a better, ie: flatter, cargo floor than my 4R. Stupid, minor details like that might motivate me, though, I wouldn't be first on the block.

I am much more shallow than most, I confess.
I like the LC nameplate and would have loved to consider it if I were in market today for a new vehicle.
