Shit's under warranty, if there was in fact any issues.

Or think, if they replaced the battery, then there was probably something wrong with the old one.

OP…can you take a picture of the front of your battery? Just wondering if it says Panasonic like the batteries other people posted here.

    It's from Panasonic
But its label looks quite different from others posted here or found on web(all with yellow/black/white label)
It's a new car manufactured in April 2023 which should have exactly same battery as others

IMG_20230729_110158349.jpg Japanese cars come with Japanese batteries, another reason to only buy J-VIN vehicles when there's a choice.

Panasonic and Yuasa batteries from Japan are great performers. The Yuasa is rated for 7 (SEVEN) years.

In the Southern California Coastal region, our Yuasa lasted 8 years.

    Good batteries.

is the battery photo taken from your 4Runner?
serial number indicates the battery is manufactured on 2023/05/20
when your 4Runner is manufactured? you can find it on top right corner of manufacture plate on driver side door
    Thanks a lot

My daughter's 2018 RAV4 had the yellow sticker.

    My made-in-May 2023 4Runner has this sticker.

I should probably add an addendum. Toyota uses what supplied to them. They are not the battery manufacturer, they just have a big contract with them. Just like how I'm unhappy that I got the Dunlop AT20 Grandtrek tires, I would have preferred the Bridgestones, at least based off of the reviews, these Dunlops apparently suck really bad. But that's a manufacturer's supply chain. If they don't get the Bridgestones, they get the Dunlops. At least, unlike Ford, they have multiple supply chains and don't have unfinished cars sitting on storage lots.

    Amen!

The 2020 TRDOR I just sold back to the dealership had the Johnson battery... The car had been taken in for electrical problems on multiple occasions. One of the technicians had the gall to tell me to unplug all the accessories I had. I did tests for surface discharge and parasitic draw. On the third return visit, the dealership agreed with me that the battery was defective. It was brand new when I bought it a year ago and it was malfunctioning right off the bat.

It was one of many problems on my Toyota certified used vehicle that inspired them to give me a full refund.

Thank you so much for your post
Your battery is the first one exactly the same as mine
your battery has serial number 200523D(manufactured on 2023/05/20) and your car is manufactured in 05/23

my battery has serial number 180423D(manufactured on 2023/04/18) and my car is manufactured in 04/23
It's very low possibility for dealer to replace original battery with a new one with this serial number
Your post solve my suspect and save my day

    Summary

    1. Serial number of Panasonic OEM battery of 4Runner is in DDMMYYD format
    2. Panasonic OEM battery sticker changed since 04 and 05/2023 which may need to be confirmed with more cases

Thanks all for your help on my question

    Resolved.

The concern was that the OEM battery did not match the design that has been in production for years. It appears they've changed how they package the battery from Japan in recent months.

My concern is why battery sticker in my new 4Runner(manufactured in 04/2023) is different from most I found on web so I suspect if it has been replaced at dealer

Thanks a lot for TeslasBigCarbonFootprint's help
He posted the photo of battery in his new 4Runner(manufactured in 05/2023) which is exactly the same as mine

Moreover by decoding the Panasonic OEM battery serial number to decide manufacturing date of battery,
My current battery should be the original one from manufacturing factory

you can refer #35 ~ #40 for more details

Toyota moved its US headquarters from Torrance, CA to Plano, TX several years ago (probably ~5 years). It looks like the OEM original batteries say distributed by Toyota Motor Sales in Torrance, but the OP's battery says Plano, TX. That may be a clue that the battery is not OEM from Japan, but maybe an OEM replacement from the U.S. ??

Definitely OEM. This is the battery made in Japan.

Along with Plano texas, it also shows the distribution centers in US territories and Hawaii.

Since there are probably a million different legal requirements in terms of labeling, safety certifications, etc, they probably change the sticker depending on where the car is being distributed for first sale.

    Agree with you
and I find another case from https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zjQqbFrgOk4
Not sure if all new Toyota Panasonic OEM battery sticker since 04/23 have been changed to the current one, no more yellow/black/white and Torrance, CA?

Hahaha, Toyota is like Fender Guitars. If they have extra inventory, they use it up even if it's not current or accurate.

All the crap options I got on my car are because they're dumping product like USB cables. The first aid kits didn't sell, now they are standard, etc...

One last thought... Why did Toyota leave California for Texas? :D
