Hello, new member. Coming from a GMC Yukon for past 17 years and looking real hard at a clean 2018 TRD Off Road with <50k miles. Other than the usual items, are there any specific issues to check before purchase? Recall items, etc.

Needle bearing. Listen for a cyclical low pitch groaning around 30 MPH. It's usually covered by a dealer without trouble, but it can be an inconvenience. A lot of folks replace the bearing with a bushing from ECGS as well.

I'm not sure if 2018's were involved in the fuel pump recall, but you can put the VIN number in on Toyota's website to see if it's needed or has been performed already.

If equipped with KDSS, check that the accumulator (located on the driver's side frame rail right below the driver's door) isn't caked with dirt, or corroded.

Regarding the needle bearing, @Thatbassguy forgot to mention something. Troubleshooting that sound at 30 MPH - if you hear that sound, put the truck in 4WD, and if the sound goes away, then it is the needle bearing. (do this while the truck is traveling in a straight line if on a hard surface so as not to cause binding in the drivetrain.) Then put the truck back into 2WD.

Welcome. Pay a reputable mechanic to do a thorough pre purchase inspection. You can also pay to have a compression check done, if there are any engine maintenance concerns.
