Some eBay retailers have a single cap, SINGLE cap $140!!!!!

anyone looking for these recently have any luck?

Until Toyota sues for copyright infringement. Unless they don't have TRD.

 

I was just reading that thread. Don’t know how I missed. Wow.

My own cynical self believes some less-than-scrupulous resellers have their finger on the pulse of parts that are hard to come by and start scooping them up from dealers.

No way I’d pay 140+ for one 3” circle of plastic. But as long as someone does… they’ll ask it.

 

after market suppliers that use their copyright are dime a dozen. doubt toyota will go after center cap 3D printing guy when they can go behind others supplying heritage grill at 1/4th the cost

 

Yeah, there’s stuff all over eBay, Etsy, Amazon - doubt it is all “officially licensed” Trd or Toyota merchandise.

 

I ordered 4 bronze center caps PT280-35221-5F May 26th online from my local dealer. They shipped one on Jun 2 and then two on Jun 21 and the last one on July 17th.

 

Good to know. I’ll just leave my pending order as is and be patient.

 

Next we'll need center cap locks.

That’s not the type cap. It’s one of these.

 

I wasn’t sure about that. But I kept coming across Tundra part. Same diameter? Red ring, no red ring either is fine with me!

 

Those seem to be on backorder/unavailable for order, too.

 

All 3 are same diameter

I bought a pair off ebay, it was through a dealership, was supposed to be here yesterday and tracking still hasn't updated other than that the shipment was accepted.

 

I bought a pair as well off ebay yesterday, a dealer, but cancelled today. I had a conversation with very helpful dealer...

Black with TRD, red ring - many are making their way to distribution centers, and will start being available for order
Black with TRD, no red ring - "fewer" (I read as NOT MANY) are in system, but not even to distribution centers...
BRonze with hertitage "Toyota" - same as black with TRD, no red ring.

This parts tech was kind enough to take time out of his/her busy day to research for me.

 

So I have been following listings on eBay. All of a sudden this one seller (who has many items listed at price gouging levels) has “more than 10 available” at…. Wait for it….$149.99. For ONE cap.

W. T. F. I heard they were moving through pipeline, but if places like this scoop them up at $25 and resell at even $50. I doubt they’ll sell many at $150, but still.

Toyota should sell the wheels WITH caps, like they do with some other wheels, and prevent this bs.

 

For 600 I’ll happily ride around with no caps until supply comes back. Lmk

 

My truck has been in "port processing" status for a month, prolly waiting on frikin caps.

 

I've seen those too, but I got a full set from a dealership that had some in stock. My eBay order ended up cancelling because USPS lost the pair I bought. Depending on where you are ask the dealership you're on the phone with to see if they can see anyone that has inventory nearby, that's how I got mine.

 

Seller has now increased price to $200

$200 for a single center cap. One freakin center cap. And he’s got 10 or more available. The wheels I got for $185 a piece!

First world problem, I know. But it just pisses me off.

I’m pretty sure seller monitors forums like this, and others. Easiest way to see what may becoming hard to get in various parts pipelines.

 

If you're still looking, contact DCH Brunswick Toyota in New Jersey to confirm they have any in stock, but order online since you're in MA. That's where I got mine. They had 8 in stock when I first called not sure if anyone bought the rest.

For those that are interested:

ALL varieties of the above Toyota center cap are on national backorder with no ETA.

You can order the correct diameter center caps from AGP wheels (google them, no affiliation with me). Three color options including bronze. $8.99 each, $36.

I ordered and received in about a week. Perfect fit. Good stopgap until Toyota oem arrives. Yes they do say AGP, but at first glance looks like TRD - same font.

I’ll post a pic in a moment.

 

Update:

There is stock moving through system. Just received notice mine are shipping.

I paid $19.00 a piece. Not the $110, or even $200 on eBay.
