Lift 2.5”

Lift question: 2.5” front and 1” rear or 2.25” front 1” rear. I understand I’m splitting hairs here. I’d like to go 2.5” but I’m afraid of the reverse rake. Running 265 BFG.

 

If your only running 265s what do you need a lift?

Eibachs kit 2.5" front and 1" rear levels it out pretty good.

 

I think a slightly lifted/leveled 4runner looks cool regardless of the tire size. Eibach is definitely a good option.

 

2.5" front and 1" rear and mine is perfectly level. Although I could see the 2" front giving a nice subtle rake if that's what you want.

 

I’m fine with how my 2.5/1.5 lift looks and performs regarding front to back balance on the road, in most conditions. However, loaded up for the weekend, my rake at the frame goes ever so slightly negative. I’m kind of picky, and am the type of guy to notice how much better the road dynamics/suspension feels when the vehicle has good weight distribution, versus slightly rearward distribution. Negative rake tends to amplify the feeling of a rear-heavy vehicle. I know it’s just a truck, but the feeling of all 4 corners evenly taking the weight of a heavily loaded 4runner over wavy or rough roads is sooo much better compared to when the back is slightly squat, leading to that wallowing feeling.

For that reason I’d say 2 to 2.25 front and 1.5 rear (at normal weight) is perfect. That’s probably what I’ll end up with after I get my new armor delivered (which is pretty heavy)

 

I'm running a variation of the Eibach (very pleased with it BTW) the Pro-Truck 2R. I have it set to 2.5 front and 1.0 rear and it's level. I'm also running 285/70/17 tires. Maybe someone will post the same amount of lift with stock 265's so you can better visualize.

Hi, no spacers.....it's a Eibach Pro-Truck Series 2R suspension. I have it set to 2.5" in the front along with the 1" in the rear. I have the skid plate off now until the Victory front winch bumper arrives. That will get installed along with the Warn winch, Heretic fog lights and Heretic light bar.

 

Here my 2013 with 2.5/2 inch lift

 

Go 2.5" and watch it to settle to 2.0" after a month or so. The 4Runner is a heavy pig and suspension liked to sag.

 

This is how it sits after 3 month of driving when I first install it was sitting around 2.75
