Just an update to this thread.

I have a 2023 SR5P. I recently installed the morimotos, and I followed the instructions installing the fuse tap in the no 2 efi location.

I was experiencing the random lighting effect described in this thread. I messed around with all suggested fuse locations. They all seemed to have some unwanted side effect.

Long story short. I realized leaving the fuse tap out, everything still worked, except the start up sequence doesn’t initialize until you turn on the lights. You still need the harness or the DRL won’t operate.

    Im happy with this.

I had issues setting these up as well. Seems to be a common occurrence. First my high beams didn’t work due to a blown fuse. Then I had issues with the DRLs. The last rep at Morimoto told me that new instructions would be coming out and they would state not to tap the EFI2. People were experiencing their DRLs to flash when the 4R was parked. Apparently there is a fuel pump sensor that runs off that fuse causing the DRLs to power up several times a day. Instead he suggested that I should tap a fuse under the dashboard. That is what their new instructions will state as well. Someone suggested to not tap any fuse and leave it unplugged. This works perfectly for me. I don’t want to run DRLs all the time so having to manually switch them on is fine with me. I did notice if I leave the stalk in the DRL selection and turn off the engine. They will cycle with headlights when I start the engine. If you want them to cycle on start up, try that.

    Hope that helps.
