    I also had a service notice on my Toyota app and didn't even know it!

    So why not until July 10th? Did you call the dealer, and they have to order it in still or something? So dumb I need to call my damn dealer just hate dealing with them....it's like going to the dentist at times.

    So I called my dealer about the 2nd fob and they of course tell me they need the 4R all day, are you kidding me. So i ask for a loaner and they tell me or were all out of loaner for a least of couple of weeks. Unbelievable so disappointed with this whole 2nd fob wasting my damn time to line it up. So they made me an appointment for July 17 with a loaner. What a joke, sorry for venting.

    I called them today and can only go on a Monday. They said they could not guarantee a fob would be there this Monday.

    By the way when I first called them they said they would have to call me back.
    I was just there last Monday and asked about my second Fob and they all shook there heads.

    Yeah what a mess Toyota did on this Fob issue. I called a different dealer here and they told me they would have to check and call me back. They called back in like 30 minutes and told me they would have a fob here on Monday and it would be ~60 minutes wait time. Other dealer = dumb having to leave it there all day.

    Yes totally dealer issue. I should have purchased my 4R from the dealer that will have the fob Monday and only take ~60 minutes to program it. I did buy my 2010 4R from them but they are like 20 miles further away. I now say 20 miles is worth better service.

    No letter in the mail yet. App says call dealer for 2nd key, so I called this morning. They said I'm eligible to get a 2nd key now, but they don't have any in stock, and they are on backorder. WTF?
    Anyway, they said they'd order one for me and let me know when it arrives. No ETA since they are backordered.
    This whole process is a bit ridiculous.

    This reminds me. Did anyone else get one key fob and two regular keys? That's what the Toyota earlier press release said, but I only got one regular key on delivery, so they owe me a second fob and a second regular key.

    I was given the second key at purchase. Have an appointment tomorrow for the second fob. I never received anything in the mail. But was notified on the Toyota app.

    Yep - the wife just saw on the USPS app that we are getting the 2nd key fob letter in the mail today. However, I had already gotten the service campaign notice on the Toyota app and our 2023 Limited is at our local dealer (not the dealer we bought it from) getting the 2nd fob programmed right now. I went in to our local dealer last week to get a bottle of touch up paint and checked with one of the service advisors about the service campaign notice I received on the Toyota app. She entered our VIN and it showed we were needing the 2nd fob. She made me an appointment to bring the vehicle in for the 2nd fob programming within a week. So, I don't think you need to wait for the letter in the mail. I don't think you even need to show them that you got the notification on the Toyota app. I'm pretty sure all the VINs for 4Runners that only got one fob are in Toyotas system and are approved for delivery of the 2nd fob. I think you can call any Toyota dealer, give them your VIN number, and get an appointment to get your 2nd fob. I've seen where some on here have said that the dealer they contacted had to order a fob. The dealer I went through had the fob in stock - but I had to wait a little less than a week to get a service appointment.

    Just received my second FOB. Took took 1.5 hours.
    I already had the second hard key.
    Sucks I had to leave work early but such is life.

    I dropped my vehicle off at the dealer a little before 8:00am then went to work. They called me at ~9:45am and said it was ready to pick up. They knew I wasn't waiting there for it - I think if I was waiting for it might have been a little quicker.

    Well a update. Since I posted a couple times in this thread. Like people have been posting I too got the notification on the app. I too got the letter in in the mail. Last Thursday
    Took them a day to get the key ordered and sitting in the waiting room right now as they program it. 3 days after ordering

    Now don't loose them keys!

    I recently took the 4Runner for the 10k free service, got confused and rushing to get to work, I left the 4Runner sitting in the welcome service bay with keys for our Rav4 that my wife was waiting outside in. About 5 minutes after we left they were texting and calling. OOps.

    That's what I don't like about the keyless entry and pushbutton start. They enable several new kinds of mistakes. I put a tiny clip on my 4R key and just leave it clipped to a belt loop. That doesn't solve everything, but at least it prevents me from driving away with the fob sitting in the garage where I set down my coffee and computer bag.
