What have you done to your 5th Gen 4Runner today?

Please let us know how it affects the sound quality from that speaker.

 

Ok so I tested out a couple songs.. Now I am not some young kid.. So some of you might know this music but I tried two different styles to make sure the sound was good.. First song was "Black Betty" by Ram Jam and the second one was "Tired of Toein' the Line" by Rocky Burnette.. Both sounded amazing and the speaker was not effected.. Now I didn't MAX out the volume but i did turn it up and wish I had a cold beer in my hand at the time!

 

Taking skids and spare off for oil then POR15 frame n crossmembers. Almost forgot I can't fit the Runner on vehicle ramps in garage no more haha

 

Well, today I was going to install these Morimoto XB fog lights that just arrived, but it looks like I ordered the white instead of the amber I wanted. Unfortunately I haven't had my acct for 30 days yet so I'll have to wait to list them.

I really need to pay closer attention when I order things

Did you use the rubberized por15?

 

I think it's just standard red can POR15 black rust preventative barrier paint. Pretty sure no rubber

 

Got this thing on!

 

Stripped, cleaned, repainted my 5 year old crusty ass Yakima Loadwarrior and extension, installed it on a set of Inno bars, and added a new ARB 2000 (6.5') awning to the passenger side. Set the bars up with everything mounted permanently to them but left enough adjustability that the entire assembly can be moved to my wife's Outback by just undoing the Inno clamps and lifting the assembly up (two person job).

If you just lift your rig that high you can save the trouble of setting up the ramps and storing them

 

I'm pretty excited I can't start the install till probably Wed or Thur, waiting on license activation, then I send them my stuck tune. Then they take 24-48 hours to send the Supercharger tune. I can't wait to begin.

I bought a small vacuum pump and a gallon of ATF today and drained/refilled/circulated the PS fluid three times. At only 66K the fluid was pretty dirty, so I am going to make this a regular part of my oil changes.

 

What ramps are you using there??

 

Took my Gobi off for a little maintenance today.

Had some rust on 1 of the bars.

Cleaned it up with a wire brush and treated it with some rustoleum.

Although I would rather not remove the rack for maintenance, it was actually really easy to take off. Only 8 bolts and none of them compromise the water-tight thread-locked bolts that go into the roof.

The added benefit was that I was able to give the roof a wash, clay bar, and wax treatment. Something it hasn't seen in a couple of years

 

Added LFD cross bars with wind fairing. Def gives A little more rugged look Super easy install by myself, took about an hour give or take. She’s dusty rn but getting a nice bath tomorrow!

My cheap Amazon jump start battery still working..!!

So I was reorganizing my wiring for a possible mod. I kept my auxiliary lights for sometime which made my 12v battery very low in current. Really I had to go inside the house for baby duty while my auxiliary lights were on By the time I came back its too late. But I'm extremely happy my inexpensive jump starter battery is working perfectly and it had plenty power to start the car. I didn't record the starting process as I thought / little panicked that I messed up something big with wiring that everything is dead.

I cannot post the Amazon link for this product as its no more available. Its about 5 / 6 year old. Here a pic though.

 

They are the ARB gusseted L bracket universal mounts #813402

 

My dealer is such a tease! I woke up to this in my text messages.

 

I take delivery on Wed. Will be paid in full! Not playing dealer finance games. I just got back from ordering a set of 4 Wildpeaks, in SL. As soon as I get home, I'll give a call to Jerry at Mid West Toyota and buy the Toyota Care contract through him. Will post pics sometime on Wed.

 

congrats! 4Rs are so reliable I felt like the Toyota care wasn’t worth it. Glad you got a great ride though!!!!

 

I'd rather have it and not need it, than not have it and need it! It works out to $194 a year for 7 years for the warranty. I will gladly pay that!

 

Did this today .. first time ever doing something like this.. did ok.. I’m hoping some of the bubbles come out..

 

Take a razor blade or needle and poke a tiny hole in the bubbles

 

My first stab at applying a decal. I also tested out my Luno mattress today and completed the first finish coat of paint on my Rola basket.

 

Installed black front & rear valences today (July 10, 2023).
