My hood got painted last week, possibly in the same batch. I just can't get it installed until the dealership makes good on some things. It was bought Toyota Certified Used and the inspection absolutely did not happen on my vehicle. They checked stuff off that was completely wrong. ☹️

For those of you not in Southern California, check my post about ordering it on the Toyota parts website earlier in this thread. I think it's more economical to go to the flat hood because the scoop stuff is all purchased separately. Still, should be on the table for your hood changing dreams.

Ah, did your bill include the cost of both hoods?

So far, up and that neck of the woods, Longo Toyota seems to have the best online pricing for its parts ($355 non-scooped hood, $520 for the new windshield compatible with the optical sensor system). I do not recommend this dealership for well-founded reasons, but in San Diego the best pricing seems to go through Norm Reeves. They're complete jerks there, and they really don't deserve any money from your business, but if you can't get it shipped from Mobile Alabama or Amarillo Texas, I guess they will have to do.

 

They did not charge me for the junk yard hood

Looks like your only hope is to find a Limited owner willing to swap. That seems to be the only 2022 model in Army Green without a scoop.

I thought there was a 22 Trail Edition and the SR5 but I'm not too sure. I didn't think I'd have a tough time getting rid of a scooped hood haha

 

You're right about the Trail. That did not occur to me. I don't think AG was offered on the SR5, though. Someone with an Army Green Trail Edition might want your scooped hood!

They list it as an SR5, but I'm not convinced it's not a Trail Edition, and they just don't know what they have...not unusual for a non-Toyota dealer.

 

Flat, scoopless hood metallic silver 5th gen JUST PAINTED by Westminster Collision in SoCal... They've done at least a couple of other members of the forum. Good shop. FOR SALE, just to recover paying for the paint job.

Long story short, the dealership I bought my TCUV that made a few mistakes and they're buying the car back 100%. Inventory of new silver TRD Off-Road Premiums in the Southern California area is nonexistent, so this one is going to be orphaned unless a small miracle occurs.

were 850 miles apart ,12 hours there, 12 hours back . easer to buy used and paint.

 

I did this swap on here a few years ago flat for a scoop- I like the scoop look but in the right angle sun it does throw a glare

 

if only it was a working hood scoop.
