DRL issue

    2018 4Runner
    DRL does not work - but lights can be turned on
    Abt 6 mths ago I put LeD in wifes car
    She noticed a hummong abt 6 wks ago
    Now no DrL

    Bulb or sensor?
    I do not thing bulb since can be turned on manually

    None. Bone Stock. EXCEPT: Brushguard, tow hitch, both welded to the frame. It's good to have friends and a fully equipped garage!
    I'm guessing, please be aware! I would bet the sensor feeds a relay, which turns on the DRL lights. When you put the LEDs in, you reduced the current draw throughout the system dramatically. I would guess, again a GUESS! that the sensor, feeding the relay coil, either fried the relay coil, hence the humming, or fried the relay's contacts. Lower current draw than the system is designed for will cause parts, like relays and capacitors, to heat up a great deal, and eventually fail.

    Did you check the fuse(s)? Did you pull the cover off any relays in the system that are directly involved with the lights, and ohm their coil and contacts? Might be worth a look, anywho...
