I have only had my ORP since April 6 but noticed something today not previously recognized. When I shift into 4 Lo, I noticed the PCS off symbol in the display. I thought it was a malfunction but when I shifted into 4 Hi, the PCS off symbol cleared. I thought about it and when in 4 Lo you are more likely to be near trees and other objects which could trigger the PCS and associated braking, when not desired or safe. In 4 Hi you could be in snow or at higher speeds making the PCS functional a desirable feature. I studied the owners manual and the logic is triggered by the VSC (vehicle stability control ) system being disabled when in 4 Lo, along with TRAC. TRAC remains functional in 4 Hi along with VSC. The description of the PCS on page 248 says when VSC is disabled the PCS is disabled. So in summary when in 4 Lo since VSC is disabled , PCS is also disabled. And it makes sense.

Yep, completely normal. Imagine the emergency braking activating while your on a steep incline, near a cliff. Time for another pair of shorts.

Yeah you don't want it interfering with 4wd system.
