'23 Second Key Update

If you haven't heard from your dealer, you might want to call them. I gave them a few months to follow-up and finally called my salesman yesterday. They promptly set me up with an appointment and I got my second key today.

 

Well its June of 2023, Has anyone got their second key yet? post it when you do, and how they notified ya. waiting on my second key as well. I took my delivery during that timeframe in the picture above in late january (thanks for posting it runningbear)

 

I took delivery in early Feb, no 2nd key yet. Texted my salesperson about a week ago about it, no response.

 

January. No key call yet.
I will call tomorrow.

 

I got both fobs when I bought mine back in May.

 

I just emailed my dealer about my order. I really don't want to be driving back out there for a stinking fob program on a brand new anything.

 

Literally 6 days into June......

 

I just took mine in for its 20K service this past Saturday. Reading this thread makes me appreciate that I was able to trade in my Camry and get my SR5 all in the span of about 4 hours and it came with two keys. Mind you this was in February of 2022 but it does still sink in 14 months later.

 

The Toyota notices said they would mail a notice when the second keys are available. Haven't received mine yet.

 

Ditto. Been waiting on my key since February. Hope Toyota gets this rolling.

 

Just got an update build date: 12/8/2022.
Sept 2023 expected.

 

Does that mean one built in Dec '22 gets a second key in Sept '23?

 

Alright its June 20th according to the pic above 16,941 of us 4runner owners that did not get 2nd keys should be getting the letter in the mail in june, I have yet to get mine. if you got your letter chime in, there is 16,941 of us out there.

 

Not yet. Last I checked it was Sept.

 

We have an appointment for the second key fob, next Tuesday. The wait is finally over.

 

Bought mine in March and it came with 2 and Im glad I didn't have to go through this

The dealership I purchased from called me. I called a local dealership to do the key though, as I didn’t want a 200 mile round trip

 

Ah thank you redneck hmmm. Same with me I bought my lunar rock 2.5hr drive away. A dealership around the corner from me . I'll give em call and report back to the thread.

 

Just received a notification in my Toyota app for a “service update” that I needed to call dealer for my “remedy” now available. Called in and set up my appointment for 2nd fob receipt programming. My truck was manufactured in December 2022 and I took delivery 2/22/23.

 

Just check my app and the notification has been there for a few days. Here are a few screenshots.

Just called my dealer.....they don't have any keys to give. Fun. Said I would receive a letter right from Toyota and it would be like a recall notice. FWIW

 

Curious if you spoke to “sales” or “service” department? I connected with the service department and they had to confirm fob availability using my VIN. I bet if I had spoken to someone in sales, I would have gotten the standard “watch your mailbox” line.

My key is available per the app. Dealer needs to program key.

 

I think that you have to get the service campaign notice, before the dealer will get you a key. They are treating it like a service recall, similar to the way they did airbags.

 

Nice thanks I never use that damn App and just checked mine as well and have a notice to call for an appointment for the 2nd fob programming. I took delivery of my 4Runner in January. Thanks again @Lucky Linski
