I purchased the NaturNest tent on Amazon, and it was absolutely worth it. Saved over 1.5x the cost instead of purchasing a brand name tent. Most of the tents are rebranded from China anyways. The hardshell is so much more convenient than my softshell Thule Ayer, and costed about the same. I typically alternate between a ground tent, and RTT depending on my travel plans. My girlfriend definitely prefers the RTT when we travel though! Check out my review on this tent, and forgive me for rambling because this is only my second video! Let me know if you have any questions!

I bought a futon from Dan's Futons on Ebay and sleep right in the back of my 2023 4Runner. Totally stealth and can park anywhere. Nice tent though.

Loved camping in the back! It was the best for solo travel, but things changed when we got a huge dog

Glad to see this post! It looks like this tent was going for $999 before the season came in and now its hovering at 1,300.

I haven't seen the video but I wanted to ask, what kind of rack do you have and if you experienced any difficulty on the install?

I am not able to see pricing history. But I've had my eye on the tent for the last half year. Here's a youtube video of another purchaser with a "similar" tent at $999 about 4 to 5 months ago

    https://youtu.be/egudMSgrB_s

Edit: It seems that this style tent has been advertised worldwide to a massive spread of prices. Some in Australia received early iterations without an aluminum floor.

Most of these tents are very similar but have a few differences from the looks of it. $999 would’ve been an absolute steal. I’d 100% recommend any of them if you’re paying under $2000.

Similar tents were $999 but I think the Naturnest’s came out at $1300. I have an alphafoxtrot designs rack (prinsu style). I used my sunroof to get access to the brackets in front. As far as the back brackets, I would take off the cross bar and mount it to the tent, and then to the rack. Of course do your measurements, but reaching between the rack and tent was nearly impossible for my rack. Prinsus have more access in the back to tighten the bracket though.

Perfect, this is what I was thinking would be the way lol. I'll have to disassemble the rear cross bar but that should not be too difficult.

I am going to save up and get this tent. I only need the tent for 3 to 6 days a year. Makes it much more comfortable to digest than dropping 3 to 4K on another hardshell.

I love sleeping in the back of mine! I saved a cushion from an old couch I was getting rid of, it's the perfect size to make a comfy bed in back.

Only works solo though, good to see another affordable RTT option.

I think that the mega website creates “custom” prices depending on how you arrived at the site. If you click directly from thread that is recommending it, and if traffic is being directed there, and the mega-web retailer sees your banking account has lots of money or credit, then the cookies tell it to jack the price up. Seen it time and again.

If we truly care about each other, we should only recommend products to each other in some sort of “secret code” :p

The thread on license plate frames shows an example of different members being charged different amounts for the same item.

But you're not going to get the clout that comes with a CVT/23Zero/Roam RTT. GOTTA DO IT FOR THE IG BRO

I haven't really heard about any bad tents from an initial quality standpoint. The real question is longevity. For example, there's one made by Smittybuilt that has a good price, but begins to break down after only a few uses, especially in the Velcro area.

Does anyone have an awning mounted to side of your Naturnest using the 2 channels in the lower tent shell? What brackets did you use?
