They are just rock solid trucks for an affordable price.

Had my 2003 V8 4-Runner 19 years and 354k miles when I traded it 2 months ago (ONE repair - tensioner pulley seized). Worst decision ever. The 21 4R has no torque, entertainment screen is a PITA and it's dinging at me constantly. I KNOW I don't have my seat belt on and driving with the door open you idiot. SHUT UP! I can spell c-a-r-i-s-t-a so that's on the list, but a supercharger is out of the budget.

But it does have a manual transfer case and hope to flat tow it, so maybe it'll redeem itself.

I regret selling my 2013 Corolla. I don't have much confidence in the CVTs came after 2014 / 2015.

As for the 4Runner I'm happy that "Car care nut " gave #1 position to the 5th gen 4runner and calling it "the star of the segment". No wonder since that engine is the most popular across the globe.

Er - the manual calls it dinghy towing and and it says no.

Kind of like forums. Lots and lots of bad info out there. Unfortunately nowadays when you call it out you're committing a "microaggression" or "being mean" or whatever. Not that long ago if someone came along with bullshit that was bad for a forum that person was blasted into next month. Not anymore.

It was a joke. And no, I didn't watch. Pretty common knowledge the 4R is reliable, though lowest maintenance claim is debatable when fluid changes are considered.

I follow a good amount of YT channels, but this is not the type of content I enjoy. I guess I can see the value for non-enthusiasts simply looking for buying advice.

Ehh.. my '85 Supra, '94 4Runner, and '03 4Runner were all similar or higher than that when sold/traded. 300K is where I start getting impressed. :D
