I bought a slightly used 2023 4 runner with only one key does anyone know of a place online to buy toyota 3 button key fobs that don't cost dealer prices? I have seen used ones and knock offs not sure which would work.

My key fob says model 14fla

I can rent a programmer that supports the 2022 model i would think the 2023 model is no different?

The dealer i bought the 4 runner from has tried 3 times to get me a key and has been un-able to do so. They are not a toyota dealer.

I would have made it a stipulation that it comes with two keys. Then they would have to go to Toyota themselves for all I care.

I'm sure that the previous owner only received 1 key, and they should be receiving a second from the original dealer. Maybe you can trace the vin back to the original dealer and contact them about it? Most people that only received one fob at time of purchase have been told they will be getting fob #2 sometime this late summer-fall.

The Carfax would show details of the original dealership

Funny you should say that on the #3 try they said that they will order a key and take it to the toyota dealer up the road and of course i have never heard back from them so i thought i would just do my self instead of wasting time and gas going back to them.

Probably not much trouble at all, they owe the 2nd key to the owner. Now that being said, you probably wont get it until October or something. But I think it would be very easy to call the dealership, explain that you now own the vehicle and when the second fob comes in to notify you instead of first owner.

This is happening with Lexus as well. Ours bought in December has yet to receive second fob, they said we will get it this fall.
