    Hey everyone!

Just got back from an 18hr road trip to bring the kiddo back to college and gave her my old 08 Escape. I've been looking at certain trim levels (TRD Pro, TRD Off Road, Off Road Premium and Trail Premium) for under 30k. I understand these beasts can last up to like 400k miles if properly maintained. What would be the highest amount of miles that should be my cut off point? I do plan on keeping it for years if I can get one under or around 100k but if I can get say a 15/16 TRD Pro for 25-28k and around 150-170k miles is that a bad deal? I would mainly be using it on the weekends and wouldn't be putting a lot of miles on it except for the occasional off roading/trail trip around East TN. Only put 63k miles on my Escape since getting it back in 2012.

    Thanks!

If you buy from no salt state you should have no rust underneath. That is a big killer for this vehicle.
I have not checked used 4R prices but I think they are still out of whack. If you can get a rust free single owner vehicle within your budget for under 100K miles I'd jump.
Miles its kinda upto you. More miles also comes with more used interior, e.g. seats will show age etc. so if that is a concern stay under 100K miles.

I wouldn't pay a premium for a Pro at 150k miles, I'd look for a lower trim level with less miles. Not that 150k is high per se, but you're getting up where you'll need some maintenance stuff, including replacing suspension if that hasn't already been done.

IMO the TRD OR is the sweet spot if you have plans to off-road but don't want to go crazy modding.

I definitely wouldn't hesitate to buy one with 100k if it's in nice shape. I bought my 13 in 2019 with 80k, and am at 155k now. Only non-regular maintenance/wear&tear repair has been having the AC topped off at 104k miles in 2021.

I have no doubt that it will go to 300k+.

    Welcome.

I would get the newest year and lowest mileage 4Runner that your budget will allow you. Unless specific trim options are a must, go for an SR5.
