Sorry, new to forum and don’t have the vernacular down.
And yes, I used the ‘search’ function and did’t get a clear answer,
(Just some babble about a typo)
The term keeps popping up, (prob something simple)

Hi Eddie. You might mean ORP, which stands for Off Road Pro, the highest level trim' for the 4Runner. As far as I know ORD is the airport code for Chicago Ohare, Airport. Cheers!

    Off Road Pro?
I thought ORP is for Off Road Premium.

You are right, of course, my bad. See Eddie, don't feel foolish about posting questions, we all can learn something.

    To add to this:
    LE = limited edition
    *TE = trail edition
    *TEP = trail edition premium

*the older "off road" version (OR) used to be called the trail edition. It's been a bit muddied with the newer Trail's which are some other type of Frankenstein between trims that I can't exactly remember right now. Pro is typically Pro or PRO.

    Thanks!

The different trims for 4runners, unlike many other vehicles, define very significantly different mechanical packages. Suspensionwise. Going to take a while to understand all the nuances.

I could be wrong but I believe the suspension is the same stock across all models with the exception of the Pro and any trim that is equipped with KDSS.
I'm sure someone will correct me if that is wrong.

That is correct. Pro gets fox ORP optionally gets KDSS. All other suspensions are same, stock.
Once 4Runner leaves dealership lot, everyone and their mom gets Bilsteins, 285s, TRD pro wheels, heritage grill etc etc. ;)

FIFY. Limited is the highest level trim in the 4Runner lineup. :D

    This might vibe helpful:
Compare 8 trims on the 2022 Toyota 4Runner

There are visual cues to distinguish among the trims. There’s the badge on the c-pillar, but it’s hard to read at a distance, and lots of people remove it. The wheels can help, although so many people change their wheels that’s not always reliable.

Limited - 20 inch wheels. Special bodywork. No bulge hood.
Sport - 20 inch wheels. Special bodywork. Bulge hood.
    SR5 - No Bulge hood
SR5 Premium - No Bulge hood. Turn signals in side mirrors.
Off Road - Bulge hood. No turn signals in side mirrors.
Off Road Premium - Bulge Hood. Turn signals in side mirrors.
    Pro - Special roof rack.

For my intended use, I wouldn't trade my Limited for anything else.

Good thing about options, To each his own!

Full time 4WD is superior. Be proud.

Sherman, set the way back machine to a couple of decades ago. When the term All Wheel Drive was introduced it referred to vehicles that were primarily front wheel drive, but with rear axles that would be engaged by the computer under certain circumstances. The thing that distinguished AWD systems from 4WD systems is that the AWD systems were reactive while the 4WD systems were proactive. By proactive I mean that the driver is making the decisions instead of the computer. Over the years the technology has improved and become more sophisticated, and the distinction between AWD and 4WD is becoming blurred. The meaning of the term AWD has changed too. AWD has become a blanket term for any vehicle that has 4 wheels that can be powered by any means. The problem with this shift in terminology is that while under the AWD umbrella you find the sub categories of part time and full time 4WD, there is no special term to distinguish between these “proactive” 4WD vehicles and the newer technology that relies so heavily on computer control and wheel slip.

In spite of the controversial body work, if you replace the Limited’s 20” wheels with a size that gives you a little more rubber on the sidewall, the Limited is a vehicle that is among the apex predators off road. Full time 4WD with a locking center diff is awesome.

AWD - all wheel drive. Computer detects slip and sends power to all 4.
    4WD - all 4 get power.

As I said, I didn’t know limited is 4WD, my assumption was it’s AWD.
