I didn't realize that Incognito was a color option on the new GX. Oh man, so tempted to place a deposit on one now. Must fight the urge!!!

For those concerned about the turbo motor, it is the same one that they have been using on the Lexus LS500. The issue is not with the motor or turbos but the wastegate that Toyota is using. This should all be corrected and refind before the GX release.

I still can't believe that Toyota isn't having fold flat rear seats. I love the look of it although I would never be able to afford one.

I really dig the looks on this one - interior and exterior. I am also excited for the 3.4 but may be in the minority there. Unfortunately, I think it may cost close to a Gen 3 Raptor - and if it does, I'd rather just get another one of those. We shall see!

the ones that do have direct also have port injection that it uses when idling to keep the valves clean

I get how most folks here like the design. It's 4Runner forum after all. but IMHO Toyota may have overshot a bit with this design. Many Lexus buyers are looking for a more luxurious look than an FJ Cruiser. This may drive some buyers away.

It’s got that super long front end. Same as the Tacoma. From some angles the front end of the Tacoma looks longer than the bed. Just doesn’t look right. If you took a foot off the front end of this Lexus it would look great.

Let’s agree most of us get the 4runner not only for the look, but mainly for the engine. This is why we in here, not in the jeep forum :D

I also like that the 4R steering wheel doesn't have 40 degrees of free play.

Regarding the new GX, I'd rather it were more compact and less costly, but then I'm probably not their target consumer.

If it’s possible to swap out turbo, I would consider it. Even so, I rather swap out the engine for the 4runner to keep it going.

One-at-this-price stripper. Bought new 34 yrs ago, a $13K leftover. Added Detroit TruTrac, 1”rear spring spacer and “pinstripes”… Factory AC kit and roof rack bought at dealer cost at time of purchase, still blows ice cold 32yrs later. 2022 AG ORP all stock.
Lol….even my 33yr old 4R w/leaking shocks is a sports car compared to my Dodge pickup. Even with thousands of dollars of steering/handling upgrades the Dodge still has ~5 degrees of play. You don’t drive it, you aim it.
    But there is that engine….

Hopefully more serviceable, I read to service/replace the turbo/waste gate on the Tundra the engine must be lifted up off the mounts to gain clearance.

Wife had a 2022 GX, but didn’t care for it. She really likes this new one in Overtrail trim. Chances are high she will get one, and I will inherit the 4Runner.

After owning a mobile oil change business I can attest to one single fact. People DO NOT do their maintenance. Lots of people are going to be crying when they have to pay for turbo replacements.
