3inch lift on 01' Limited, already has 1' lift

New 4Runner owner here, I'm looking to lift my 4Runner +2 from its 1 inch lift, but I don't know what all I need to make it work. I can post the specs when I get home from work but I think its a spring lift of some sort. I am a first time 4Runner owner, and it is also my first car registered under my name. I am trying to make it my own, and have already plastidipped the bottom matte black. Looking for something under $1200 in terms of lift kits, and I'm trying to see if I already have anything that would work to help lift my Runner.

repaired & replaced: Thermostat, Water Pump, Timing Belt, Radiator, AC Compressor, Alternator, Power Steering Rack, all serpentine belts, plugs & wires, Fuel Filter, Drive Shaft, Fuel Tank Check Valve, Front Coils (Bilstein 4600), Rear Springs ('99 OEM Highlander)
Tires: 265/70R16

That was all I can gather as of now. I might need new springs but I think the shocks should be good.

The 4600 is for stock ride heights from what it seems like. It it is lifted I'm assuming they stuck a spacer in there.

My opinion but its 22 years old and first vehicle under your name? Leave it. There will be plenty of time later for toys.

 

Thanks a lot dillusion, the guys I know who would help me install it said the same thing. I really want to make it my own and I’ve done some small stuff but I guess your right. Probably gonna save my money for more important things. Thanks!

 

Yeah man, that was good advice. That 4R may need more work being 22 years old, so I would budget just for a maintenance type things that may pop up within the next year or two. It certainly doesn't hurt to save for a lift, but I would suggest budget for a whole new suspension and not just trying to add to what you have. Like Dillusion said, the 4600 you just a stock replacement shot, you're going to want to go to the 5100's minimum if you do a lift. And if you want to go 3" of lift, it's going to require more than just shocks and springs, you'll need some pieces to help with steering and alignment correction as well.
