I realize there are folks with privacy concerns and the DCM collecting telemetry data. My focus is on having a working Microphone for hands-free calling.

2020 SR5, only modification is an Accessorides plug and play remote start kit which has been installed since March 2020.

Approximately 3 months the mic stopped working. Scheduling has prevented me from dealing with it until now. A few hours of googling everything screams "DCM NEEDS A RESET!!!" or "REMOVE THE PAIRED PHONE, DELETE EVERYTHING, RE-PAIR". Ok, did it all from battery disconnects for 1 minute to over night to DCM fused pulled for 2 days. No change. It's not a Bluetooth issue as I've cleared everything from the HU and the phone paired to it. Everything BT related works except the mic in the overhead console. Neither of the SOS lights ever light up so I don't even think the unit is getting power. Fuse looks good physically and has continuity. Entering diagnostic mode on the head unit the mic clearly is not powering up as it does not detect any sound when testing. The HU does not display any DCM icons on the screen.

**edit** I forgot to add I'm getting DTC code U1117 Lost Communication with Accessory Gateway which I feel is related to the entire DCM being offline.

Any future troubleshooting steps you think I might be missing below?

    In no particular order:
    1. Verify power past the fuse.
    2. Verify power @ the DCM.
    3. Remove the Accessorides kit/re-seat it's connections/look for damaged wires.
(apparently one of the connectors does interrupt the DCM signal wire per this thread )
    4. ???

My procedure would be to disconnect the Accessorides kit, disconnect the battery again, reconnect it, start the vehicle, and then press and hold the power/volume knob for 3+ seconds to reset the head unit. Do this to see if the DCM can be brought back to life.

DCM can be brought back to life: reconnect the Accessorides kit, examining all the pins and the harness in the process. If the system goes wonky again, maybe contact Accessorides and ask for a new harness, or abandon the Accessorides kit altogether.

DCM can’t be brought back to life: Remove all traces of the Accessorides kit, complain to the dealer that the microphone doesn’t work, and play dumb.

Welcome to the forum, and good luck.

I did a little cursory digging into the U1117 code. I think it is a very broad term that can refer to a loss of communication between any components on the CAN bus. Look here.

Appreciate you taking the time to respond. I am going to mess with it this morning.

Fixed. I must have gotten one of the earliest kits for 2020 4R's from Accessorides. Now they are completely plug and play but mine required one wire to be cut on the back of the BCM and to splice in a connector. Well this had to be the DCM power or signal wire. One crimp on one of the connectors wasn't solid enough and a wire backed out breaking the loop. Re-did all the connections and its back in business.
