Hopefully someone can point me in the right direction. Last week I installed a forward facing camera and remote start. Everything went well and was fairly straight forward. The camera came from TrailGridPro and the remote start from Accessorides. I don't doubt the quality of either product.

Now, I cannot use CarPlay/Siri to send a text or anything else and callers cannot hear me over bluetooth. Siri will activate and the little icon shows up on the head unit screen when I say "Hey Siri", but I'm guess that it is the mic in the phone itself that initially recognizes "Hey Siri" and then CarPlay takes over.

Last night I disconnected the camera harness going into the head unit and plugged in the factory harness and it did not fix the issue.

I've removed and reinstalled the phone. Made sure CarPlay and Siri are active on my phone and it is up to date. Also, disconnected the battery for about 30 minutes to try to reset everything.

I'm guessing somewhere along the line I damaged the wire(s) for the microphone or the pin in the harness.

    Help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Any chance it is the DCM fuse? I was following the thread regarding disabling DCM and it sounded like pulling the fuse is the perfect solution except that the mic becomes non-op because it passes through the safety system for alerting in case of an accident/SOS.

I'm totally speculating here, just sharing an idea.

Im trying to figure out which one that is. I found a diagram saying it’s # 29, but they aren’t numbered.

    It's a long list...
Try disconnecting the remote start system that if I remember correctly plugs into the DCM. When in doubt use a process of elimination. Slowly undo each electrical mod you did prior to the issue and test.

That is the plan this weekend. We'll see.

Update- so, yesterday I tore everything back apart and reconnected the factory harness to the DCM. Everything on the truck came back and worked fine. Made calls and sent texts via CarPlay w/o issue. I then reconnected the remote start harness to the DCM and lost it all again. I was happy enough I didn't brick the DCM and said F-it. I'll contact Accessorides later and deal with the remote start and if I don't have that feature, whatever. I started putting everything back together and for sh!ts and giggles tried to start the truck with the remote. The damn thing works! It did start and die immediately once, but it's working WITHOUT being connected to the DCM. When cleaning up everything, I did discover one of the Accessorides connectors to have a wire that was not seated all of the way and that wire does lead to the harness going into the DCM. I spoke to Accessorides this morning and described the wire, and he said that very well may have been the issue. I'm going to leave it all as is for now and if I lose remote start, I'll reconnect the DCM harness- not that the wire is seated- and see if that fixes it. Accessorides said they'd send me new harness if I wanted and he notated my account in the event I have any issues in the future.

A little over 2 months on, how is this going for you?

I just found your post after jacking around for 3-4 days with my setup and it sounds like I'm in the exact same boat.

I gave up on the front camera thing. I think there is a compatibility issue with the harness and the wiring once it gets connected to the oem unit. There are many other folks complaining about this issue on other forums.
