    Hello all,

looking to get a new head unit because I would like to hear the songs I want when I want. I saw that toyota yaris head units can be swapped over to 4Runners. I am wondering what year Toyota yaris head unit will offer Bluetooth or usb options for my 2007 4Runner. Or any other classic looking head unit options that don’t look like iPads!
    Thank you.

Check out the Scion T10015 head unit swap from “the track ahead” if you are looking to keep it oem. It is an oem Toyota head unit that has Bluetooth and stuff from like 2013-2016 scions.

I actually did this head unit upgrade. The big caveat is I have the JBL synthesis sound system which adds a bunch of headache to the install because of some wiring stuff. Sound isn’t great and I am having a custom backup camera harness made because (from all my research) there isn’t a way to adapt the oem backup camera to any after market head unit. For the not great sound issue I’m gonna play with one of the adapter harnesses that do something with the signal from head unit to JBL amp and see if it improves.

anyways, if you don’t have the JBL system this is an easy plug n play swap. Like I mentioned google “track ahead scion head unit upgrade” or something similar.

Thanks man I’ll def have to check that one out, sounds like exactly what I’m looking for! Also, sounds like a good thing I don’t have the JBL lol.
    appreciate it!

I got a head unit out of a C-HR. The boot up screen is the Toyota logo not the Scion. Was a plug and play install with some premade adaptors. The only downside was not being able to change the color scheme to match the 4runner orange. the color scheme is blue. Also the usb memory stick does not work right. It gets stuck in sub folders.

My comment about the sound not being great was false. That was my fault. I adjusted the potentiometer from the TYTO-01 harness (JBL only problems) and it sounds great now.

I'll follow up to my last post - got everything working great. Everything works, sound is great, backup camera works. Lots of work to get everything to work right though but i think that's more because of the JBL Synthesis system. Probably spent too much money with all the misc wiring harnesses - which came out to more than the head unit itself. But, it looks OEM even though its a Scion head unit.
