    Afternoon All,
I was out trying to get my running boards off in prep for my sliders coming in later today. So I started on the passenger side and the first 2 bolts are now spinning free but not loosening to tightening. There is barely and room to get a grip, maybe a penny width. My brother said to just grind them off and move on as I won’t be using those holes for the sliders. Anyone else law have a POV or experience with this tire sandwich?

Sounds like the weld nut broke free and is spinning. You may have to cut off the heads of the bolts. Frame mounted sliders won’t need those bolts.

Thank you, 2 out of 2 does not bode well for the remaining 10 :/

Sounds annoying. I would make sure you spray the other bolts/nuts with some liquid wrench and let it sit for a while.

Have you tried pulling the bolt and spinning? Sometimes you can put enough friction on the nut to let it grab.

I took mine off several years ago and forget how much access you have.

    Good luck

    Thank you

I hit them with PB on Sunday, May as well hit them again. I had high hopes for a simple removal.

Got luck, only 3 bolts of the 12. Ended using a grinder to take the heads off and then popped em off. Looks old school!
