I know it’s apples to oranges but I have the super bumps on my Tacoma and will vouch that they are great.

4.25" is what I chose. I got it validated with others as well. So far so good.

so this pic is with me in the driver seat (230 lbs), full tank of gas and my wife (115 lbs) and son (180) sitting on the rear bumper.

I think there was a 3” or so gap above the axle.

May be a silly question but not sure I've seen it asked before- at what point do the bump stops need to be replaced? I know they were an add on option for my kit but I didn't replace them. I'm about 2.5/1.5

im not sure of the exact science behind when you need them, but id say anything 1.5”+ rear lift should get them.

Duro bumps vs stock (see pic) is night and day.

i dont think i would ever hit the stock bumpstop which if i did could be a little too late.

It really depends. I have wheeler superbumps, they are made for stock ride height, but you can add spacers once you start lifting it. Durobump sells different sizes. Also depends on how much up travel your shock has. I set my rears so I have 4" up travel(this way my shock doesn't bottom out).

Edit. Also these aftermarket bump stops cushion the bottom out so its not such an hard impact. So you want to account for the compression of the bump stop when setting them up.

Stock height, stock springs, eibach shocks. My bump stops sit 2.5" away from the diff, but my stop compresses 1.5".

wow thats crazy that you are running stock height all around but your picture looks like you have a 3” lift. Nice!

I just re-measured mine, but without me inside. Im at 3 - 3 1/4” away from top of axle with a 1.5” lift in rear.

Oh in that picture above it was lifted( f2.5"/r1.5"). Then I decided to drop it down to fit the tires(285) better. Now I'm sitting pretty with just a 1.75" level.

    ah i see, good deal!

Been driving around a little and those bump stops are great! Can wait to see how they do with it loaded up inside and with a cargo carrier in the rear.

bump1.jpg bump2.jpg No part numbers but you can look it up. You can use Energy Suspension 4th gen rears on the 5th gen front end. For the rear use the GX460 bump stops they are much longer and progressive than the stock 4runner because of the air bags. Both work like a charm and are very affordable.
