New Ranger has same single body style as Ridgeline and can tow 50% more weight plus it costs less and offers a 400 hp optional engine. But alas, no manual trans diesel and no regular cab so the door is wide open for Honda to include these features on the 2024 Ridgeline and steal sales from...used Rangers and S10's?

They started doing it on luxury cars so that you would consistently have a luxury ride; smoother ride when going a little off road. In more significant off road situations it really doesn't matter. Yes they are lowering their legal risk by offering it as an option and calling it a performance part - you pay for it by the way - and here we are eating it up.

If you go ahead and google stuff like, 4runner rollover statistics, probability, percentage, rating. A lot that comes up is stuff posted on law firms' websites.

KDSS does NOT provide a smoother ride off-road. Some people actually claim that it's much harsher in high speed situations. It provides better articulation by acting like a partial sway bar disconnect at low speeds. This also enabled Toyota to use a thicker sway bar to reduce body roll.

And, I'll keep calling BS on Toyota offering a safety feature only as an option on certain trims.

I know I paid for it. I chose to.

I'm not denying that the 4Runner has a higher rollover risk than other vehicles. It's part of being a BOF vehicle with a high center of gravity. If people can't drive accordingly, they should buy smaller vehicles.

All the landcruisers I've been in were pretty damn smooth on dirt roads but then most things with stock suspensions are.
