Your avatar photo seems to show an aftermarket roof rack. Does that brand of rack not offer one for the rack you have?

I have a Bajarack which does not sit flush with the roof. Thinking about adding a fairing from roof to rack deflecting wind over the top of roof. Something like this from Colorado fairing company.

I have the Gobi rack with no rise. A deflector was included. I took a drive without the deflector and the wind noise was pretty bad. Adding the deflector quiets it down to nearly stock level wind noise and there is no turbulence at the moon roof. I have no idea if a deflector helps with gas milage but I am pretty sure I lost at at least 1/2 mpg with the rack. I would image the sound of turbulence is also the sound of wind resistance using more gas.
