Anyone know a good source for OEM parts for my 2003 4Runner? I just ordered a gas door replacement from Toyotapartsdeal.com which turned out to be the wrong year model. Their RMA department kept me on hold for 25 minutes only to tell me to send them pictures of the item which I did only to be told that the item is non-returnable because the package had been opened. Seemed a bit shady and a lot like a scam. I am just looking for a reputable company to do business with. Thanks

I was going to recommend toyotapartsdeal.com because I use them quite often. BUT, i haven't returned anything to them.... so that's a bummer you had that experience.

One other thing i do, is google the part you're looking for, and if a link shows from parts.toyota.com, like this example (for TPMS sensors i just purchased):

    upload_2023-5-17_11-5-59.jpg

click on that link and it'll bring you to the actual part to buy, but if you scroll down a little bit it will give you local dealerships who are selling that part as well (you may need to update the zip code). You can click on a local dealer and see their pricing (or you could just buy it from the parts.toyota site if the price seems good):

but, toyotapartsdeal has worked for me and is one of my go-to sites to buy OEM toyota parts. I've recently purchased a ton of parts through these methods.

Thanks gkomo! It appears they drop ship from other dealers which is why it is a non-returnable item. My item came out of El Cajon which is not where toyotapartsdeal.com is located. I would rather them tell me the truth as to why I cannot return the item than say the package was opened. Additionally, I work in online sales and am very familiar with drop ship items. Toyotapartsdeal.com needs to have a process to accept drop ship items otherwise, don't fulfill orders with dropship purchase orders. Seems so simple but not for some.

Are you in the San Diego area or just happen to have your part shipped from Toyota of El Cajon? If you are local, Norm Reeves toyota has had some of the best pricing on OEM parts i could find... i'm a San Diegan so i just picked them up myself to save on shipping costs.

Awesome! Thanks. I live in San Diego and offered to drive to El Cajon to exchange the part but Toyotapartsdeal.com denied my RMA Request and would not even consider it. Terrible Returns Department/Customer Service!

Well that sucks, hopefully they weren't expensive parts. If so i would continue to fight that fight.

Only $73 but it is more the principle of the matter than a monetary issue. Just leaves a really bad taste when I deal with returns and customer service daily and know/understand how things should be handled if you are a reputable business. But thanks for the reply/encouragement.

Lol, just saw your post on Tacomaworld. Ya that blows. Has me a little worried about the TPMS sensors i just purchased through them. Can't be certain the part won't fit if you don't open the packaging...

It pays to do your research on parts before you order them. If only to ensure you are ordering the correct part for the application.

Sites that I use most often for OEM Toyota parts are:

McGeorge Toyota out of VA - https://toyotaparts.mcgeorgetoyota.com/
Partsouq out of Dubai - https://partsouq.com/en/catalog/genuine/locate?c=TOYOTA00 - Most often the cheapest and quickest to get parts from, even here in the US. They don't always have the parts you need and sometimes it's the only place that does.

Partsouq is often a great resource since they provide more parts diagrams, or they are at least easier to find, than most other websites. Often, I can't find a part number on a normal Toyota website but am able to find it on Partsouq.

I have used McGeorge Toyota in VA multiple times and it has always been quick shipping and pretty good prices.

I really like McGeorge Toyota. They are not the actual order fulfillment, but the licensed Toyota parts distributor to the dealers is. Great service.

Rockauto.com is still a good option for lots of items too with a range of prices. Usually theyll have the OEM option and aftermarket.

    Parts.Toyota.Com

Use the following zip codes from the following cities for better than average pricing:

    Mobile, Alabama
    Amarillo or Lubbock, Texas.

You will get free shipping if you go over $75 and use the coupon code.

Since not all dealerships take the same discounting, some even charge full MSRP, the parts.toyota.com website is a little bit hit and miss on pricing.

Some of the shipping goes tax-free as well, depending on the source dealership and business holdings in various states.

For a comparison, I paid $7.68 per spark plug for OEM and the generic of the same plug at the local auto chains was $9.99 and $10.99 each.

If your order goes under $75, I add in stupid little things like crush washers, air and oil filters for the next couple years, whatever.

McGeorge tried to tax my order to California (8.75%). That immediately raised the prices above parts.toyota.com using either the Amarillo and Mobile dealerships.
