I agree with previous posters. Remove the cat theft shield and the appearance package and it’s a fair price depending on other specific options. What they have added are decent items but hugely marked up.

Taking off those options brings the price from $52,480 (MSRP) to $45,870 which is $6,610 off MSRP would be a great deal in-deed.
The way I understand it is that the actual price Im paying $51,649.76 which is $830.24 less MSRP and technically getting the dealer installed option free (nothing is free)

    From the dealer
    Vehicle base $46,580
Plus $5,155 in Factory Installed Packages and Accessories
    -$750 Keep it wild
    Delivery $1,495
    MSRP $52,480

Dealer installed Package & Accessories $3,890.

    Total Price $56,370

As someone brought up earlier, what is your total cost out the door, including TTL, which can be thousands depending on your state's sales tax. Not asking you to tell us, just keep it in mind when calculating your purchase. For example, Ohio sales tax would add nearly $4000 to this pricing.

Taxes are minimal because of the trade in.
Still the MSRP seems high to me. Like other said, I would tell them to remove the bs packages.

My 22 TRD Pro was close to this price before TTL, so I feel like an ORP should be less than 50k MSRP

In the Dallas Fort Worth metroplex you can't get a TRD Pro for less than $58K. $51K-$52K for a TRD ORP with good options is pretty common, again in this area.

You can go to Toyota.com and build one with the options i posted earlier in this thread and you will see the MSRP.

    Actually here it is:
    MSRP 46,580
    Manufacture installed options
    Keep it wild -750
    Roof Rack Cross bars 229
    Conn Kit 75
    LED Bulb upgrade 199
    Off-Road Upgrade package 3,499
    Vehicle Protection Premium Package 599
    Rear cargo organizer 159
    Center Console Safe 395
    TOTAL MSRP 52,480

You may want to consider the 4 hr trip to austin or SA. Htown sometimes also.

My step father just had to go to Baytown for the best deal for his Telluride ( he lives on Lake travis)

Hmm. In Ohio I think it's based on the price of what you're buying, and the cash, trades, etc. are essentially considered part of the "money" used to make the purchase, and are taxed that way. I may be wrong though.

i guess prices have increased. I just saw that the cheapest 4R is now 40k. That's insane, I still remember when I was looking at the website a couple years ago, the base 4R started at 33k.

Mine was 53k before TTL. There were a few addons that I didn’t want on top of that such as predator steps but I removed them before they got dirty so I was able to sell them for a good price.

At the end of the day, do whatever makes you happy, that’s really the only thing that matters, just make sure you won’t have any regrets with some extras you didn’t want

In AZ, I believe you pay taxes on what you pay “cash”
So if a car costs 50k and your trade in is 49k, you’re only spending 1k so you pay tax on the 1k not on the 50k.

not sure about Texas but in a previous post OP said tax would be $400 so it seems similar to AZ

TX is the same. You get taxed on the final balance.

The same in southern Texas area(s) as here in north Texas, low supply and MSRP or a little below MSRP. There's a dealer in Arlington, TX that has a TRD ORP with a $5,000 Market adjustment....that's crazy total $58.6K.

That's insane. I live close to toyota cedar park and they don't do adjustments. They usually are a grand more than toyotas website msrp. But they just charge website price +ttl. Transparent with prices from my personal experience.

Most of the dealers in my area have large markups. I went with one a little farther away that didn't.

Is anyone paying under MSRP anymore? I remember pre covid, folks were paying $4000-$5000 under MSRP.

Just joined the forum and ran across the post since i'm currently looking for a 4runner myself. I'm also in the DFW metro area myself (Mckinney) to be exact. The only dealer I can find that does fairly decent deals is Family Toyota. I used to sell for Toyota of Richardson and the market adjustments can get out of hand with the Berkshire dealers. The msrp sticker on this photo is one of them..

As has already been said, a $500 deposit it all any reasonable dealership should require.

I bought mine from Family Toyota and they drove it to me in Oklahoma. I thought all pricing was reasonable considering I got what I wanted, when I wanted. They came down $2,000 off the internet asking price. This is the guy that had the power to drop the price:

That's awesome. Not sure if I've talked to him or not but I did to someone that was willing to work a deal but it was on a TRD Sport and I'm pretty much sold on a Rwd limited trim as I don't need a 4wd. So that's kinda a hard find in this area as well

Get the sticker so you can see what is already in the vehicle. They can provide you and actual image of the window sticker. And like many have said, don't put a penny more than 500 deposit down. Why would they want to tie up over 7k of your money in a refundable deposit? I would walk away based on that alone, if 500 doesn't satisfy them.
