Add a Westcott Designs hitch tire rack and propane tank bracket. Still need to relocate the backup camera.

RE: Westcott Designs. It looks like they've effectively lost the use of the Stop/Tail/Turn lights. Do you have any solutions to correct their poor design?

Thanks. No, its pretty stable. I'm getting a 105 quart Yeti with the side straps that lock in place better than I've it setup at the moment.

Installed Lasfit's canbus ready 1156 LED bulbs in the front turn signals. Really glad they are making LEDs that don't require resistors. They worked as advertised and are very bright. No hyperflash. Gonna get a set for the rear turns as well.

    Too much crap
Had an issue with the threads that hold on my front skid plate being stripped out due to careless oil change techs over the years from the previous owner. I didn't want to pay the ridiculous price to replace the two skid plate brackets (I think they wanted around $300 or so). I ended up drilling them out with a unibit, used a jigsaw to cut off the nut that was welded to the inside of the bracket where the skid plate bolts thread into, then used my rivet nut tool to install the new rivet nut threads (2 per bracket, 4 total). The tool was ~$75 and the new bolts (5/16" thread, flange bolt head 1/2"), lock washers, and rivet nuts were like $5 bucks at Home Depot. If anyone tries this at home, make sure the rivet nuts don't have a lot of wiggle room, the tighter they fit into the bracket hole, the stronger they'll be. I'm attaching a picture of the final product. Works great so far and I don't have to use those weird tapered-thread bolts that come from the factory! No more stripped threads

Thanks. There's so many little custom touches you can make to your 4Runner and I like finding simple solutions to them. That's half the fun of owning one!

That has been the exciting part to me. I had a Titan for years which had minimal aftermarket support compared to other brands. If you did find stuff, it was often very expensive.

Nice setup. Please share what safety measures you have taken to prevent theft on the spare and the tire carrier.

I was also thinking may be a cover on the tire to protect it as its exposed vs running tires are fairly covered been under the car and keep rolling. Back in the day we used canvas covers that also have a pocket for trash.

Same here, I've always owned pickup trucks for work (including a Tundra Rock Warrior), and there's only so much you can do to them while keeping them functional. I figured there'd be a decent aftermarket for the Titan though, they made a shit ton of them and you see em pretty often. With 4Runners the sky's the limit as far as modifications, and I'm enjoying it so far!

I took off my skids and because the manufacturer did such a poor job welding the nuts to the transfer case Cross member the nut broke off the tacks they had. So needless to say it was “fun”. I went down the nutsert route. Problem is that it is soft metal and you can’t get the screw to the manufacturer torque specs. So I took it apart, welded a new nut on and that is doing so much better.

Yeah from what I saw, there were 4 tacks on each corner of the nuts, and that sucks about the cross member. Thankfully I just had to do the threads where the skids went into and not the skid brackets to the cross member. Unfortunately I don't have a welder so the rivet nuts were the only inexpensive option for me.

Installed a ceiling cargo net. The Rainglers were mad expensive. I watched one of their install videos and came up with this. Net w/zippered pocket $19.00 and D-rings $7.99 from Amazon. Easy install.

While I was at it, I finally got the Meso dual color map and dome lights.
