I doubt anyone would fess up to having put dual fart cannons on a perfectly good 4R. It now sounds like a very large Honda Civic. What's so funny is how the exhaust shop guy is so proud of how it now sounds.

 

A Civic never sounded that silly. To me its like two 3 cylinder geo metros reving at the same time. Maybe it should have an X pipe to balance it out.

 

Just wait for these dumb EV sports cars. You can select from many stupid exhaust notes. It will probably be like your phone choices a multitude of dumb noises.

No straight pipe on anything and burnouts are lame because even the Runner can light one up.

 

It sounds like a Stovebolt 6 with a split manifold, which is cool on an old low rider or cruiser. Not so much in this case

 

My Viper truck sounded like a UPS truck no matter what i put on for exhaust, but she could scream.

I can't believe the dude drove 8 hours from michigan and paid someone to make his truck give everyone a migraine on the freeway. If nobody locally wanted to touch this job, that should have been a sign lol.

 

Do you know why that engine (same as the Viper) sounded like that? It's got a very strange firing sequence where the cylinders alternate between firing at 90 degrees and 54 degrees apart. So it ends up sounding like a big 5 cylinder. A buddy had one of the early ones and the only way to fix the sound was a very expensive set of headers that had certain tubes cross under and fire in the opposite side collector. There's my Cliff Claven moment for the day.

I can’t speak to all those numbers, but i had stainless steel headers and 3” cat back exhaust. It did surprise quite a few people on the street, she was hard to beat.
