Got the BMC and Viper cut last week I'm thinking of running a 285/75/17 what MT tire would you recommend? Also thinking of rims or should I stick with the TRD PRO wheels. If not, what rims and offset do you recommend? I've posted here on my old account, but I had to create a new account because of account access.

Hey Jer, I am currently running 285/75r17 KO2s on my build. I ran stock wheel for about a week and was getting minimal rubbing, once I went to a -25 offset wheel I started rubbing like crazy, NO BMC. Only trimming I have done to this point is viper cut, mud flaps and some ancillary trimming. I have an appointment for a BMC tomorrow morning, Ill keep you posted with how bad she rubs ! You should be fine staying stock wheel with a 285/75 and a BMC.

I went ahead and took pictures of the areas that you will be rubbing on. Cheers !

One thing to keep in consideration is the weight of the tire. The KM3 Comes in at around 67lbs where the KO2 weighs around 60lbs.

You will feel more bogged down with such a heavy tire as it will be putting a lot of stress on your transmission, possibly even warranting a re-gear.

You bring up a good point. I'm gonna have to look at a lighter weight mud terrain

I’m running these Toyo’s and am very happy with them.

If you're looking for decent road manners (for an MT), I'm pretty happy with the Yokohama Geolandar MT. They were also lighter than some other MT's I was looking at.

Even going with lighter tires, 285/75's without a regear might suck. I'm on 295/70's and I think a regear would be ideal. It's Ok, But definitely pushing it on stock gears.

Mother of God! Are those even road legal?

    Those look awesome!

Some of these new "R/T" and "Hybrid" tires look really tempting for when my MT's are done.

I'm assuming not, the noise alone at 60 would probably violate most noise ordinances, but, with those tires who's going to stop you? This is the definition of, "Where we're going, we don't need roads" haha

Got the BMC done and was still rubbing. Turns out my caster was set completely back, got an alignment and now have about 3 inches of clearance full turn. Cheers !
