3rd Gen length.

Hey y’all. Trying to figure out the total length of a 3rd gen 4 runner from bumper to bumper. I keep finding conflicting info.

Also, a length of the 3rd gen from the front bumper to the rear tire, and from the rear bumper to the front tire would me super helpful.


We may be looking for a wheeling rig for the wife in the near future! Preliminary plans are 35’s and front and rear lockers.

 

I'm sure you can find one easily to measure; betting the differences in the measured lengths are the front bumper styles from early 3rd Gen and later 3rd Gen.

For wheeling, you should be looking at your wheelbase length...

35s are the max I'd suggest for these rigs as even 33s are known to break cv axles, depending how you wheel of course.

 

Measured length is more to figure out if I can fit it on the trailer with the bronco. Hoping someone had measurements on here before I start shopping for one.


With how my wife wheels..... She is a when in doubt throttle out type. I would think there are aftermarket shafts out there.

 

Throttling out, and catching traction when your wheel lands is what will ultimately blow a cv axle.

You can opt for RCV's but ideally I'd rather make my cv axle the weak link, not my 3rd member.

Anyway, you guys will figure it out. If it were me, I'd check one out I was interested in and just measure it from there.

 

Maybe after she fixes a few she will change her driving happits.

That remind me, I still need to replace the rear diff she blew up her in RC car....
