Hey everybody. I've been looking into getting into a taco/4runner for a few years now and think I've found what could be a pretty good deal. However I'm not super well versed in mechanical repairs or engine swaps and wanted to see what others thought about the repairs and maintenance that has been done to the vehicle since there's been quite a few upgrades and changes. I've attached the specs list below. I really appreciate you taking the time to look and any advice is really appreciated. Units are metric for mileage.

Are you sure you want to delve into a 20+ year old vehicle? Things are going to break and you need to know how to work on cars.

It’s definitely something I’ve considered and going from a vehicle that’s from 2017 to an older one would definitely be a change but I really love the body style of those third gen 4Runners as well as what should be a quite durable car. But it’s definitely something I’m aware of and working on cars isn’t something that particularly scares me and I’m definitely open to learning about that stuff as required! But it’s definitely something that I’m thinking about around it. Thanks

Well they got all the right repairs, the fact they used oem parts when they replaced the LBJ and UBJ is a good sign. But you still have to ask where the work was done because a good part doesn't overcome a poor install, I can only tell so much from some text. Same for the engine, you need to know who did the swap and what sort of warranty there is on the work. Check the title history too.

If you have the time, space, and money to do the work yourself you should be fine. You should get an undercoat to if you plan on driving it year round in Canada.
