Just went out to look at my 2006 forerunner I noticed that the driver side roof rack back cover was missing and wondering where I can find one of these without breaking the bank?

I bought 4 from Amazon along with black automotive silicone. I put a small dab under the cover where it would contact the cover and snapped it on and cleaned up any excess quickly. so far so good. No more car washes for me.

Is this referring to the black rubber strip that runs along the roofline under the roof rack (one each side of the vehicle)? If so I need one. I’m missing this piece on one side of my 4Runner.

No, these are the roof rack mounting point covers for the factory roof rack. The rubber strip you are referring to would need to be ordered from a dealer. I just left mine out when they started falling out, they don't do anything really. I believe the part number is 75557-35010.

Do I need to know someone to be able to get the plastic piece to go on without breaking the tabs? I ordered a complete set from Amazon and tried to install the driver side rear cover and 3 of the little tabs broke off. What gives. Very frustrated! I sent the covers back.

Cheap Chinesium parts. OEM would be better but way more expensive, if they are even available any longer.
