How to prevent my 4Runner TRD Sport 2023 from stealing?!

    Just call agent to insure 4Runner, premium increase about $10 per month. Agent said that this is not because Highlander was stolen, but because 4runner insurance is a bit more expensive than Highlander's and because 4runner we bought isn't new..
    Regarding switching insurance....I got today online quote at RBC group Insurance and they didn't ask if I had claim about stolen car, only at fault accidents in last 9 years.... Maybe they will increase when you call them with quote....

    This is what cop told me! I'm just shocked! Aren't any checking for stolen cars at Montreal port before shipping?! Criminals can smuggle easily weapon, drugs, bodies, humans etc....and nobody cares!
    Generally, police reaction in Peel is ridiculous! they are just like agent for insurance companies who gives offence number :) I'm retired police officer from Israel and I know very well how effective Israeli police is! Here is disgrace....

    Also, week ago , I called and left voice message to local MP, MPP and police officer who gave me offence number.... no reply from anyone :)

    Regarding car protection.... I drove today to my mechanic and asked him same question. he said that can setup kill switch with hidden button for $350-400.... probably I will do it

    Ask him if he can do the kill switch with a magnet vs an actual toggle switch. Toggle switches are a pain to set up hidden but still be reachable every time you get in. A magnetic induced switch can be placed anywhere convenient behind the dash, centre console, etc. A rare earth magnet is used to close the circuit. Not my idea, but brilliant when I was shown it. My buddies dad set it up in his Ram truck. Keeps the magnet in the vehicle, just moves it in place to start it up.

    I believe lots of dealerships suck, but to think they are stealing cars back, I can't get on board with that until there is some even a little evidence.
